[Game] Kings @ Clippers - 10/25/13

Bmac would have better numbers if on with cuz and Vasquez. Hard for him to get shots with salmons and IT on the floor with him. Thornton or McLemore all depends on who you think is more consistent with Vasquez and cuz. After watching JT with second unit. I may have changed my mind about starting PF. Now JT should get more min than Ppat as he should sub for both big spots and Hayes getting spot min for defense.

McLemore had plenty of looks tonight. He just wasn't making his shots. Still, he managed to contribute with his energy grabbing 6 boards and 3 assists

More important than the game, or the individual players, the Kings have finally found a coach. I'm feeling very good about Malone. Finally we've got a coach.
It looks like you're right, but I'll reserve my judgement till the regular season and I'd like to see how he and the team responds to a losing streak.

No, he's entirely right! Malone is a coach. It's already obvious. We may not agree with all his decisions, but at least we aren't constantly questioning his sanity...

IT played good but Vasquez is a great passer. If mclemore played with him he would have had 8 extra points. He was open on 2 fast breaks and 2 back door lobs he called for that he didn't get

I can agree with that, I really really like what I see. We've just had so many terrible coaches since Rick that I'm afraid to say that Malone is good off of just the preseason.

Yes.....in years past, the way we started this game, it would have snowballed and the game would be over by the half. This is most definitely different. Some of these guys are having good moments again...Outlaw, IT playing well, Salmons has his moments, Hayes doing good things. Cousins has had some really good shooting %'s.....their is hope.

And that right there is the difference between making someone better that you play with and controlling the ball and getting your own shot..

Both IT's and GV's talents will be VERY useful this year depending on the situation..

Very good defense tonight. Someone said earlier that were lucky that the Clippers are missing all their shots. Well, there's a reason for that. Also, I've been tough on IT lately, but tonight he played a very good game. Scored within the flow of the offense, and except for a couple of times when he had blinders on, especially when there was just over two minutes left in the game, the Clips were trying to get back in the game, and he stops and pops with 21 seconds left on the shot clock. He needed a slap upside his head for that one. But other than that, he had a very nice game. McLemore's shot was a little off tonight, but its the first time this preseason he's been off. Everyone comes back to earth once in a while.

I agree that I would love to see more of McLemore on the floor with Vasquez and Cuz. He got missed while open several times tonight by IT. I do think that IT's height affects his ability to see the floor well at times. On the other hand, Vasquez made a couple of very nice full court passes for assists tonight. Vasquez should start, and IT should come off the bench. I want to give credit to Malone tonight. He managed the game very well, and I actually saw plays being run on offense. Good game by Cuz. Kept his cool once again, and scored in a variety of ways around the basket. Only forced a couple of shots, and one with the clock running down. Now its down to the real business from here on out.

The Kings are playing pretty well overall, and they have a chance to surprise some teams early. The Clippers thought the game was over in the 2nd quarter and got a surprise. Actually, I did too. Well done there! Looking forward to the opener.

It also indicates something even more important. Our owner appears to really know how to spot useful talent.

Things are feeling really good going forward

In the grand scheme of Kings new culture, new chemistry (on and off the court), new coach, new philosophy and 4 new players its going to take quite a bit of time to come together. The first quarter last night as well in several other pre-season games, were ragged, out-of-sync and messy. Thats the way its going to go. But more important is the team is getting back in games with defense. The matching of who plays better with whom is also gonna take awhile. Second and third quarters were good examples of doing what coach wanted.

MT has the 2-guard spot to start along side of Vasquez and MLM will come off the bench for quite awhile.
Vasquez makes sense in the first group with better court vision, pass first mentality and size.
IT now appears more valuable coming off the bench as part of main rotation.
PPat appears better suited to start with his more spread game. He just has to get those 8-9 rebs.
Salmons so far is the better choice at the 3 until 6Gun or MAM can win the spot. He also good in with IT to calm things down a bit.
Cuz is Cuz but the quick fouls..... Some were 'cause it was pre-season others were mucking around the Jordan or trying to guard CP3.
Hayes for Cuz works. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
6Gun for The Fish also is working.
JT for PPat should work better than it has but JT has to fix the hitch in his shooting and figure out his role.
Jimmer. OMG. What about Jimmer? Well....... Waddya gonna do bad boy, waddya gonna do???

Stop spamming chasen.
Really? The same exact message 7 times now? This is the thread for the game tonight. If you could stop spamming that would be great.

I apologize, my phone some how sent the same message over and over again. I cleaned it up as much as I could at the game... didnt mean to spam.

Pretty sure that'll be the last time I try posting to KF from my phone.

As i don't post here too regularly... spamming isnt exactly the name I want to make for myself, so I appreciate you looking past this :)

That's fine. Mistakes happen and technology doesn't always cooperate.

It's all good. Didn't realize you were at the game and on your phone. VF pointed that out to me and it was pretty clear what was happening.
