  • Last conversation I got from you was on June 13th. Nothing after that. other than today. Like I said, my box was full so its possible that they just went into hyperspace somewhere. Anyway, we're back on track. Enjoy your week in Las Vegas. I'm jealous!
    Good talking to you today.
    How is BSG going?
    Enjoying it?

Let me know if you see any of these conversations.
Sorry to get back to you so late. What did you think of the draft. I thought it turned out pretty good. Once we knew that the Kings wern't targeting a SF, I figured it would probably be Fredette. I just didn't see them taking Walker. Hope all is well with you guys. If not before, I'll see you for the next NCAA tourney. Kentucky should be good again this year, and you guy Taylor is back. So is Jenkins I believe. Maybe we can get together for some games... Anyway, stay in touch...

    Den...
Well, it looks as if I won't be able to do anything for the draft.
We're going to be celebrating Father's day that weekend, so Nicole's parents are coming up that Friday and will be staying with us for the weekend.

So, I guess we'll just have to see what happens with summer league, and if it doesn't take place, perhaps we can set up something for later in the summer.
Surprised Bricky didn't include you. I put you at the top of my list of recomendations. Oh well, his loss. Your certainly welcome here. Don't know if I can make it up there or not. I'll have to run it by the general and see what she thinks. Congrats to Dallas. I had a bet with my friend in Mulege. He had Miami in seven, and I had Dallas in six. He owes me two lobster taco's.. What made it even sweeter, is that he laughed at me when I said Dallas was playing the best team ball and that they would win. Its all about unselfish team basketball..

Jimmer impressing folks so far. Not a surprise to me. I think it comes down to either Leonard or Jimmer. I don't see the Kings going for Walker. He's just not as good a fit as Jimmer. Weak outside shot, and the rest of his game is too similar to Tyreke's. A lot of poker being played right now.

Hope summer league happens, but its looking unlikely at the moment.. Mas Tarde!
As far as summer league, hopefully we'll hear something in the next week in regards to whether or not it's taking place. And if it doesn't happen we'll have to get together sometime this summer. As far as the draft goes, it would be great to get together for it. It's on a Thursday, so maybe I'll see if I can work something out to get that Friday off and maybe head out there, or of course you're always welcome to come out here for that weekend.

As to BSG, I hope that you have a fantastic time watching it. I'm glad you were able to secure all four seasons. You'll have to let me know what you think as the seasons progress.

    Talk to you soon
Heya, was out of town all weekend.
Left Thursday afternoon (so didn't watch the game and stayed off the internet so that I wouldn't find out what happened), so I just got back home, watched the Thursday game then today's game, and now looking at things online for a bit.

I'll catch up on the forums and things in regards to the workouts tomorrow and then let you know what I'm thinking, but as of Thursday it seemed as if Petrie was looking at a guard for the 7 spot, which makes me think that he knows what he's going to do for the SF spot. But I'll see if I still think that way after catching up on what's been going on the last few days.

I didn't anything from Bricklayer as far as a project. I do remember last year he wanted people to do some in-depth stuff on a lot of the potential prospects, but that seemed to fall through last year.
Well, I finally read all the messages that were cleverly hidden in plain sight. Bummer about the lottery. I think it needs to be changed to where only the 5 worse teams are in it. That way if your 5th, you can't end up any worse than 5th. I've downloaded season 1, season 2, and season 3. I checked the first episode of season 2, and it does start exactly where season 1 ended. So I know I have that one right. So the only one I don't have is season 4. Its next on my list. I have my entertainment for the summer all ready to go.

Now that we know where were picking, I can start going back over my notes for a little review. I still think we can get a good player at 7. Just a matter of doing our homework. I'm still going to hope for summerleague. Anyway, I'll catch you later, and now that I know where your sending the messages I'll make sure to check in the future. Mas tarde! or later!
Well tomorrow is the big day.

It's been devastating the last two years, with how the lottery has played out, and I've felt ill afterwards in both years.
The fact that we were able to come out of the drafts with Evans and Cousins is almost a miracle, but I really do think we're due some good luck.

We are nowhere nearly as desparate for talent this year as we have the last two years, but having the ability to draft a star will only make things easier going forward, so that's what I'm hoping will happen.

Let's get that #1 pick with our last chance in the lottery for the next decade!
As to the draft, I'll just be glad once the lottery is over and the combine is completed, so we can hone our speculation to things which could actually be relevent.
I'm to the point that the perfect offseason for me would be:

    1.) Re-sign Dalembert
    2.) Re-sign Thorton
3.) Win Lotty and Draft Derrick Williams
    4.) Trade for AI.
5.) Westphal not tinker with the line-up. Insert AI as SF, with Udrih, Thompson, Williams heavy bench players and Whiteside getting 10-15 minutes a game.

I'm really bummed about Barnes, especially if we end up with the 3rd or 4th pick and find ourselves having to make some hard choices. Barnes would have been great for this team. But I do agree with you that with these guys pulling out, it will make next year stronger, which will push some more talent our way as we have to pick someone from outside the lottery. So we'll see.
It's a bummer about Summer League, but it could still happen, as I don't think that earlier report was official.
Of course, I'll be surprised if there isn't a lock-out and we miss some games. I want to be hopeful, but I don't really think the owners are going to give in too much with what they want, and I get the feeling they are willing to endure a long lock-out if necessary.
Hopefully, whatever does happen, it will help us out.

I'm glad that you're considering re-watching Season 1 with Noel. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the 1st season with you, it's just so good. I hope that you can find seasons 2 and 4.
Just so you are aware, both Season 2 and 4 are split into two parts. Season 2.0 & 2.5 and Season 4.0 and 4.5.
I see that you can get each of the seasons Used from Amazon for about $20 each, so of course that is another option.

So I think we should utilize this 'conversation between bajaden and Uncia03' thing.
When I click on it, it shows our entire conversation, and there doesn't see to be a post limit like there are with the private messages, so I don't have to delete them when I run out of space, though there is a 1000 character limit.

This has been a phenominal NBA post-season.
I had a feeling that Memphis was going to win yesterday, but I still expect OKC to win tomorrow's game.

And though I think it's going to be a good series between the Bulls and the Heat, I don't think the Bulls have any shot at beating Miami 4 times in a 7 game series. I can see them maybe winning 2, but I don't see the series getting to the 7th game. It will be fun to watch.

I'm sure that if Dallas makes it to the Finals the last team they want to see is the Heat. Miami will have such a huge psychological edge if they were to meet up again. I'm sure that Dallas would be thinking: "Why does it have to be Miami!".
(Just in case you didn't see this posting...)
    Heya Den,
Sorry been very busy of late. I've watched all the playoff games, and with 3-4 a night, has left me with little-to-no time for anything else, such as putting together a decent post, though I have been keeping up with the forums here for the most part.

Today was the first day with no games, which meant it was time to get around to doing some work which I'd been putting off for a while.
Now that we're in a place where there won't be more than 2 games a day going forward, I'm hoping to find a bit more time to post things here.

As far as BattleStar Galactica, I showed you all of Season One. The Pilot was the 3 hour start, which is typically included as the first part of Season One. So, you should be able to just start watching Season 2 which will begin right at the moment that Season 1 ended.

I'm glad that your foot is feeling better, and I'm sorry that it was so much trouble.
As to Summer League, I've seen conflicting reports, and I believe that the Thomas & Mack Center has said that it is willing to host it on two later dates if the League can get the CBA settled. So perhaps there still might be something this summer. I hope so.

This has been a fantastic post-season so far and I'm really looking forward to the Heat/Celtic match-up starting tomorrow. In watching these games I just envision how good Evans/Cousins could be in the post-season, and with Thorton coming in and really fixing a glaring weakness, my expectations are even higher.

I hope that you and Noel are doing well, and perhaps we can set up something to visit you guys over the summer if Summer League doesn't take place.
As far as the games I was thinking potentially the 3rd and 4th rounds, which would be Thursday March 24th through Sunday March 27th.

If you were to come up here, you could come up anytime during that week. As mentioned I don't know if you'd want me to meet you in San Diego sometime, but I could come down after work on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, ect. to pick you up, and then drive you back on Sunday.

If you would rather we come down, then we would probably leave Saturday morning the 26th and we'd probably need to head back Sunday afternoon, probably around 2ish.

Let me know if something like that will work for you, and if so, we can coordinate the details.
First off, I wouldn't take Nate for any reason. I just don't like the dude. I like Rasheed, but he's way to old. So the first deal is out of the question. I'm also not sure why your trying to get rid of Greene and Beno. The whole point of getting rid of Noc would be to get more playing time for Greene and Casspi. So I guess I'm not to enthused about either trade. I like Perkins, so I guess the second deal would make more sense. Still not crazy about it. I think your giving up too much. Golden rule. Don't devalue your own players just because they don't fit your needs.
Hey man sorry to bug you but I wanted your input on this trade I am talking to Bostons GM about. Trying to get rid of nocioni, and the guy wants beno pretty badly.

He proposed (after we have gone back and forth a couple times):

    Boston:
    Nate Robinson
    Rasheed
    2nd round pick

    For: Sacramento:

    Greene
    Beno
    Noc
    2nd Round pick

I just had to refuse, felt like I was givig up too much and only getting a back up spark off the bench pg in Nate, and a 36 yr old sheed (who I have never been to high on) and a Celtic 2nd round pick.

    I countered just now with:

Beno, Greene, Noc, and 2nd round for:

    Perkins, Nate R. 2nd Round.

If you get a chance tell me what you think of both of these, thanks man, I value your opinion!
Schedule change. We arrive Ensenada Thursday, 8 October, 9am and depart 10pm. So lunch would work fine. We are on the Carnival Elation. Let's stay in touch by email or Skype (I'm vrw.rick on Skype) or skype ph# is 858-345-5516. Posting here is quite public so would prefer private email or skype.

    CruzDude
Hey guy. Wife & I planning to take one of the 4-day cruises from San Diego to Catalina and Ensenada in October, tentatively 12-15 Oct. When confirmed will advise and maybe we can have lunch in town there? Clips game in LA Feb 20 now up to 15 confirmed. Sending out emails to all who expressed interest but have not yet committed to go to see if we can get over the 20 hump. Looking good. Even have one Sacto fan (Kennadog) who will go if we get 20 and the $54 seats.

You reading messages?? I just noticed you message of 5/24!!! sorry bout dat. All settled in Solana Beach, walking distance to Del Mar Racetrack and 1/2 block off beach but blocked by big condo. My wife will finally be down end of this week after retiring from UC Santa Cruz staff.

My skype name is vrw.rick and I use skype daily and keep it up most of time. Give a call Tue morning then I'm gone to late friday driving back down from Santa Cruz with my wife and her car. My home/office number is 858-755-7085 but Skype best for you I guess.
Hey, possibility rising on my getting media pass based on background and writing in 9 of past 13 summer leagues. If that is case, I had already bought my tickets for the days of the last 3 Kings game and can make you a really good deal: $66 of tickets for those 3 days for $45, the face value. I'll let you know if I get a pass as the deadline is Wednesday 24 June.
Man, I've got to get better at noticing that I have messages. Were in the Ensenada area. We live out near La Bufadora. Its before you get there. A little place called Cantu. When you finally get settled give me a call. My phone number is 011-52-646-154-3149. Call me and give me your number and I'll call you back on Skype. Funny, when I was in the Marine Corps I was stationed at Camp Pendelton. I used to rollerskate in competition for the Vista roller rink. We skated at Solana beach all the time. Back then, I swear that every kid in Solana Beach had blond hair and a surf board.

Maybe after you guys get settled you can come down for the weekend. I'll get you a Cartel pass...
Hey, forgot to tell you but we are moving to San Diego end of month, to Solana Beach actually, walking distance from Del Mar racetrack and 1/2 block from beach!! Are you over in San Felipe area or Ensenada or ??? I forgot.
Sorry to be so late with my reply. I suddenly looked up at the top of the board and saw that I had a message. I get so few. My knee's are doing ok, but still act up now and then, depending on what I'm doing. I ran into too many walls playing baseball, and topped it off with tennis. I think I had more injuries playing tennis than any other sport I played. In truth, I probably just put the finishing touches on my knee's. The doctors tell me that they can go in and just snip off the execess cartlige hanging out and fix the problem, but after two other operations, I decided to live with it.

When I was a member of Auburn Valley Country Club, I just happend to be put in a foursome with Jim Otto, who lives just outside the main gate. Being and old Raider fan, it was sad to see him hobble around. He literally had a hard time walking from the cart to the tee. He hit the ball well though. Very nice man... Thought you'd like the football story..
Well, well a couple of old farts with bad knees. Actually my knees are fine now that both have had total knee replacements. My knees just wore out from 20 years of running with 15 of those doing ultra-marathons: 30-50 milers and one 100-miler. Finished them all. Had great endurance and loved running down hills and mountains just on the edge of out-of-control. But then my 6-4 body only dragged around 215-220. Now I look more like a retired football player than a retired basketball player.
Everyone is special on this fourm. Just in different ways. Thanks for the compliment. Trying to be of even disposition is a chore sometimes. My tongue is so bitten that its sometimes hard to speak. I love the Kings, but my passion is college basketball. Ironicaly, I was a baseball player. Go figure! I look forward to future conservations.

    Den..
