Pacers v. Pistons Brawl (MERGED)

It will definitely be interesting to see how the league reacts to this. If they're super harsh on both teams (lots of players involved) and their are significant and lengthy suspensions, this would most certainly affect the performance of the clubs and perhaps give rogue fans here and there the idea that they can take an active role in determining Wins & Losses by repeating this foolishness...

The league is going to have to take a serious look at either beefing up court-side security, or moving fans further back and away from the action--which would be unfortunate.

Something's gotta give, but I don't like reading several posts on other boards from fans thinking aloud about how they'll get a player or two from an opposing team suspended to help their team out. Joking or not, the nuts who actually pull off this sorta stuff could very well end up changing how we watch the game live forever.

I was impressed with Pollard's ability to get off the floor without getting hit by anything. Food and drinks were flying everywhere, he's trying to calm Jermaine O'Neal down and his hair and suit are completely un-ruffled.

One would have to assume that some fans will be charged with assault. The Pacers will bre pretty depleated when they come out here. Wallace was hugely at fault here. He was even with Artest after the facial shove.

Oh, by the way, where are all the people who wanted to trade Peja for Artest?

i'm not serious, but if something goes down, i want to see at least one starter jump in and sock the sh-t out of someone for messing with a teammate. sac-what, sac-what..... "boom" fan clocked by cwebb and bobby j, and the crowd goes wild.... kings win 112-96!

Maybe the Pacers will try to throw in three or four other guys now to sweeten the deal. ;)
i'm still down for peja for artest.... straight up too. okay, maybe jones also; just to be safe.

If anyone thinks that what they did was cool, you might also like telling the Pacers fans and organisation that they might be done for the season. Three of thier top players might be out for the season. Sad!!!!!

I said it before, and I'll say it again: European fans should NOT be proud of this sort of behavior; they should be ashamed of it.

It's a sad day when things like this happen and IMHO it's an even sadder day when some fans don't realize how whacked the whole situation is.

dont knock it until you try it....

Fallacious reasoning; I don't have to hit my hand with a hammer to know I won't like it, I don't have to smoke cigarettes, and I don't have to join an irrational mob at a sporting event.

I can understand the players being pumped up during a game, and it IS hard sometimes to keep your emotions in check. But this is one of those times when they should have done everything under the sun to stay in control.

What's bothersome is the number of fans who are already talking about lawsuits when some of them are as much to blame, if not more so, for what happened tonight. Yeah, I get mad and yell at the players....on TV, but there's NO WAY I would think of throwing something at one of them or trying to punch them! They're all bigger than me and could whoop my behind easy!

If a fight like that had happened in Los Angeles, would someone have been shot?
.. well when i think LA basketball fans I dont think of a thugish crowd, i think of all the celebs.. and PDiddy is a Knicks fan..

The more I see the sicker I get. sad sad sad. Anyone who thinks it cool when an elderly lady is being stomped by a mindless heard, or children are terified and clining to their parents for protection just has lost their moral compas.
