not at all. count me as a non fan as well. completely overrated and painfully long IMO. no offense to anyone who likes them.
I fell asleep in two of them...I NEVER do that.

Warhawk: As commissioner of this fine thread I am going to flex my tiny bit of power here.
The LoTR "trilogy" or "saga" or "long *** group of movies" or "one reallly REALLY long *** movie" whatever you want to call it is loved and hated by many. (I'm part of the former group)
I was going to select Groundhog Day in my next pick. Then, I was going to select the Two Towers when that got stolen away from me. However, I'm feeling nice today.
Though I do see you getting all three of the movies as a huge selling point for votes in the playoffs, it might also been seen as a slight turn off to some. What I'm saying is, you can claim all three. But on one condition, you'll have to forfeit your next pick.
Accept or refuse here or in PM.
If there is a huge public outcry to this, I may crumpled like a folded napkin and not allow it, but it looks to me that half of this thread hates the movies anyway.
i had a tough time debating between this one and snatch but ultimately like i said snatch got the nod. this movie is awesome. brick- think you'd definitely like it or at least be entertained in the very least.
Classic! Its possible -- but you would be surprised just how little I esteem the flood of self-consciously hip/cool garbage of the last 15 years.

Now THIS is a fad lmao!!!!
Um..which I'll join...have seen none of them despite peer pressure to do so, I read the Hobbitt in 6th grade and that's about as far as I'm willing to go.
Consider this one voice in the outcry.
They were three separate books. Three separate movies. Three of the highest rated movies of all time (heathens such as that commie gogogadget aside). And once you start doing that there is no clean place to draw the line. Star Wars? Matrix? Godfather? Bourne? Its the slippery slope.

I have enough arrows in my quiver to strike all of you with my elven carved bow
As Warhawk pointed out, and as is obvious to anyone who has seen FoR or TTT, it really isn't three movies. Its one movie. (oh, and its one book too)
As for the other series you mentioned, they are definitely different movies. That's where I draw the line.

First of all, its not difficult where to draw the line. I just did. If you can find any other series or trilogies where it is explicitly obvious that they were meant to be one film, I will consider allowing them too.
Second of all, he'd be getting 19 films on 19 picks by this definiton. Let's see what he has to say about it. Maybe he won't even want to surrender a pick.
These aren't the droids you're looking for... move along...OK, I withdraw the suggestion.
Didn't mean to cause such a ruckus, just thought I'd throw it out there given the wiki info.
Move along, move along, nothing to see here.![]()
Groundhog Day (1993)
.
my "tenative" list had this going either in the 6th or 7th round. stupid me, this movie really made me laugh a few times and at the time was fresh as hell. really good pick, i just hope i get some of my other favorite comedys before they are gone.
Yet another pop culture phenomenon to pass me by...
