P.S. That really has to be the most vile emoti-con available. Really, how would one even come up with creating a happy face projectal vomitting on a loop?
As an expiring swapped for any of our long terms, yes.
As some sort of 34yr old answer to any of basic structural problems, no.
In fact if I were going to make that move I would make it today, just so that the trade restriction on him after the move would expire by the end of the summer, and we could swap him on over to a contender for some picks and kids.
I brought this up a while ago wallace would be a great expiring contract for miller.
You won't get picks and players and expirings for him. You are basically saying we should swap someone we don't need for Sheed, and then expect to turn around and deal that same player(Sheed) for multiple picks and players and expirings? He's not worth that much and if that did happen, the Pistons would just forget dealing with us and do that deal themselves. You can't expect to get "picks and kids" for every single player. You have to have a really good player like a KG to get that sort of offer. You might get A PICK or A KID but you won't get both, and you definitely won't get that+Sheed's expiring.
I rather just keep him and let him expire and have hella cap room. Ron+Sheed=21 million or so coming off the salary cap. The cap is going up anyway and we would have hella room if we made that deal. We could probably sign a major player.
No, on the contrary, the Pistons could make use of players of the ilk of a Brad Miller or John Salmons -- they are shaking things up, but have not announced a full rebuild yet.
Meanwhile a team like San Antonio might be happy to pony up some kids + picks to nab one last shot at the title. Not high picks. Of course not. But you can nab somebody's late first and another piece or two without too much trouble if Sheed is that final piece for them. Its all about needs. The Pistons need a shakeup, but not necessarily a rebuild. We need a rebuild. And the third team (a contender or wannabe contender) needs that extra veteran piece. You are just functioning as the fulcrum. And int he process possibly doubel dipping for yourself -- losing contracts AND acquiring some kids/picks. No high lottery picks of course. But worth far more to us than a grousy old cancer who only plays when he feels like it.

Rather have Sheed's giant expiring than some "picks and kids", especially if those "picks and kids" turn out to be like Shelden Williams.
Besides Wallace, I read somewhere that the Pistons are considering moving Billups also. Food for thought.
they would move hamilton before billups. its hard to find a solid point guard.
