Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

True... but I will say at least Monk can get a team into an offensive set when he is being pressured lol
I actually liked Monk at lead guard, when he had a defensive guard playing along with him. Apparently Sabonis did not believe in it....and Monk himself didn't do it any favors by publicly implying that he wasn't comfortable in the spot. Maybe he and Sabonis talked about it and decided that it just wasn't going to work for the best?

Not sure, but I do know that it would have been a whole lot better than signing Shroder and Westbrook. Could have likely increased the value of Monk, Ellis, and Carter.

Monk was really good in that spot when Fox was here. Felt like it was natural but not forced, and at anytime he had Fox to take the pressure off. When Fox left, and he was next to Lavine who sucks, he suddenly got overwhelmed.
Next to Carter or Nique who can also handle, I think it works.

He was starting with Keon, when they went on a legit lengthy win streak, while Fox was out and just prior to his trade. That was the guard duo I wanted to see finish out that season, but Ranadive was lusting for his fantasy in Lavine

Ya it was the 5 stack of
Monk, keon, demar, keegan, sabonis. I loved that lineup, at one point they were 6-0. Great energy to start, and Keon/Keegan defense was good out the gate.

Lavine trade really set this franchise back two years minimum. My most hated king of all time.

Spurs released Sochan. If the Kings promised him a starting role the rest of the year maybe he chooses Sac?

I think he was one of the players the Kings were rumored to ask for in the Fox trade, only to be offered Devin Vessel and Keldon Johnson. The Kings should had taken any combination of those players, instead of LaVine in the Fox trade

That is not a crazy idea - the idea of the kings giving Sochan a platform to prove to them (or someone else) that he is really a guy worthy of being the ninth pick, going right into a starting role (for two years) and then falling off a cliff, (a two year fall) that he is a guy with a comeback story waiting to happen.

However

It's probably worth knowing HOW he fell off that cliff.

Was it a lack of talent? A personality conflict? Bad habits? An injury that was worse than we know?

Because if it is something that is going to repeat itself, then it's a waste of time.

I'd be surprised if they offered Keldon Johnson (and if they did, we should have gone in that direction).

At this point in the NCAA season are you all still sold on Boozer or would you want someone else? I am thinking this would be the pick for us hands down. The kid is going to be a star in the league. Better than pops imo.

let's look at guys who have been "better than pops" versus those who have been a shade below pops.

the first few that come to mind that are nowhere near the players their fathers were are:

gary payton//gary payton ll (although junior is JUST below jason hart in the "jack of ALL trades" standings)

larry nance/larry nance jr/pete nance

doc rivers/austin rivers

however

stephcurry/dell curry (who was better than seth curry)

grant hill/calvin hill

klay thompson/mychal thompson (and what happened to the "outfielder"?)

darius garland/winston garland

andew wiggins/mitchell wiggins

just to start

Give Ivey a roster spot, the hypocrisy of the nba is off the charts. He hasn't committed a crime while woman abusers suit up every day and coach in the league.

I agree, why not give Him a shot. It seems to be working out with Hayes.)
the reason they released ivey (besides his comments) is that the Bulls now have, Tre Jones (the next derek rose)...

and how did they GET him?

they GOT HIM because the Kings were asleep..

remember the fox trade?

we KNEW we were going to have to trade him, probably to the spurs...

so, you would THINK the FO would have been scouring the SA roster.

but somehow, despite TRADING fox, we never targeted Jones (6;1"). in the return package.

supposedly, the spurs offered Keldon Johnson, (and Vassell, but not Castle)

we turned to the bulls, for a three way, ignoring Jones. BIG MISTAKE (Jones went to chicago in that trade)

IF WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN Johnson AND Jones, this team would be FINE..

but we failed to see that Jones was a future superstar and Johnson a "valuable "piece' (reportedly. he is a GREAT "clubhouse guy')

the money would have worked - we just failed to see the VALUE.

no second chances - kings missed the boat AGAIN.

follow Jones and check those stats, i'll say it again - future superstar

Better in what sense exactly? He was probably better before the injury/mental health crisis but he’s been terrible at basketball this entire year.

Based on every sense other than assist totals.

I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that he's been terrible. His metrics track as a solid backup and clearly there is potential to improve there. He's not playing at the level of where he was drafted but his metrics are better than most of our young players and if you can get him for next to nothing, it's a no brainer to do so. There's zero reason to be fiddling around with Killian Hayes if you can nab Ivey.

Jones is a nice player, but is a career backup PG. He works nicely as a fill in starter, but is best as a good backup. All he would've done for the Kings is save them from signing Schroder.

i suggest you look at jones stats for the last five games (not just points, but rebounds/aasists too).

then look at him under pop years 3/4... if he's backup. he's a "best 6th man" kind of backup

watch him shine with the bulls. they will trade giddy to make room for him to start

jones snd johnson on this kings team and kings make playoffs (dreaming)

I have watched him for years. I even wanted the Kings to sign him as a backup PG. The idea that is a future star is very unrealistic IMO. He is what he is, a solid backup PG who can fill in as a starter when needed.

so, you know tre jones well, hoped the kings would draft him, but you see him only as a backup... ok =-we differ... but did you look at his "last five games" ?. do you think he cannot "keep this up" (jeremy lin syndrome)?... again, we disagree... we'll see... imho, pop drafts well and others often benefit from his expertise - this is one of those times... except it is the bulls who benefit but with a good FO, it could have been the kings (and, we could have avoided, "the zach attack")... yes, we lost fox, but there WERE "options"
