Disagree. Speedy was going to at least get the MLE from someone, so a 4y/24 deal is pretty reasonable.

That's about market I think. Speedy's a full MLE guy. Mentioned this in another thread, but he was going 13pts 6ast 1.9stl for the Warriors as a starter before the Baron trade.

We can agree to disagree. 5'11" back up point guards don't make this money unless a team overpays them because they either suck(see Atlanta) or don't have a real home(See NO/Bobby Jackson). Now, in the case of Atlanta Speedy will start but he would have been a back up here.

Is that a good thing? Got to a Spurs board and you will find as many dump NBazr threads as we have dump Kenny. If it happens it happens, but I will be fundamentally unexcited. His ability to grab a board would be useful, but there's nothing else he does terribly well. We could add him and hardly impact our interior problems at all.

He'd be a prescence a bunch more than anyone in our main 4 front-court right now, is a good rebounder, isn't bad on offense, has some athleticism, not a great shot blocker, but not occasional like SAR or Brad. Watched him w/ the Spurs with regularity, and I like what I saw. This season wasn't as good, but he came on better in the 2nd half.

I'd take him, especially if we can't do any deals for Gadz/Magloire/Swift/Etan Thomas-types. Which I think we could only get Etan and Swift out of those.

Chandler's gone. Nene's gone. Ben Wallace is gone. Pryzbilla's gone. Nazr's gone. Getting any of the Bucks guys (Magloire/Gadz) would be harder now due to Villanueva starting, and KT would have to be a back-up.

So the best bet, is Etan Thomas. Then you have Lorenzen Wright after them. After Wright, you got guys who probably aren't starters like Ely and Cato (who I think is more of a back-up/limited role guy now).

Then just for fun, you have Adonal Foyle , who is probably available with the Warriors young bigs (not all that good yet though) around now.

So, 3-4 guys are our reality right now for experienced starting-typ bigs unless Geoff can pull something off.

And of course KG, but who knows if they deal him.

BLAZERS SIGN PRZYBILLA
Just got off the phone with Przybilla's agent, Bill Duffy, who confirmed that the Blazers have signed Joel Przybilla to a 5-year, $32 million contract. The fifth year of the contract has a player option.

Duffy said Przybilla had offers from Detroit and San Antonio, and interest from New Jersey, Sacramento and Cleveland. Przybilla early this morning turned down Detroit, prompting the Pistons' move to pick up Nazr Mohammed.

"I think it came down to a number of things at the end of the day – first and foremost he and his wife absolutley love Portland,'' Duffy said. "The community, the people, the lifestyle. The only negative was the situation with the organization, but Joel was impressed with the moves they made in the draft. He felt like they were serious about changing. And at the end of the day, Joel is a loyalist. Two years ago, when nobody else believed in him, Portland signed him to a two year deal. He felt very strongly about that.''

Well Ben is gone, Pryz is gone, Nazr is gone. Chandler will be in NO or Minnesota as part of a Garnett deal. That would mean Garnett is gone for us as well. Its beginning to look as if a ho-hum trade is all we got left to get a quality Big.
