NFL Playoffs 2011 (Discussion and Pick'em Game)

I've been saying for weeks that the Falcons aren't even close to as good as their record indicated and tonight I think I was proven right. Matt Ryan is very good but they just don't have the explosiveness to win once they get behind by more than one score. GB scares me more than ever now that they seem to be 100% healthy is James Jones is making catches.

I love the Falcons but I knew they wouldn't make it to the Superbowl, Matt Ryan is an overrated QB and like pdx said, when they get behind they just don't adapt well to that style. On the bright side it looks like my early season prediction of a Steelers-Packers Superbowl is still intact. There's no doubt in my mind that the Packers are going to Dallas right now, no matter who they face. To be doing this without 2 of their major offensive weapons in Finley and Grant is just scary.

This game would bug me more than the SB loss. Pats need to step up now.

and what is with the Flying Elvises getting ripped off the helmets every time they get hit?

I guess there is no karma.

That sucks. I now officially concede the Seymour trade was a bad deal.

Brady didn't play with enough of a sense of urgency. I'm beyond disappointed right now. Can't believe the jets won and Sanchez outplayed Brady in his house.

The Pats looked unbeatable in the regular season just as did the Falcons. It goes to show you that it doesn't mean much once you get in the playoffs because it's always about match ups and what team gets hot at the right time and the Packers look like that hot team right now, one win away from a superbowl. That is a classic rivalry and it's going to be a good one vs the Bears, I am looking forward to watching that one. A rematch with Pit vs NY should be a slug fest as well. Boy, next weekened is going to be very fun and exciting!

Thank you to the New York Jets for turning what would be extreme dissapointment and sadness into extreme anger and hate. They are so classless. That entire organization is a joke. That team will never win a super bowl. Teams like that dont win.

I'm still fuming because it was the utterly classless Jets that knocked the Pats out but I must remind myself that this was a team most picked to finish 9-7 that was clearly in a rebuilding season that had 22 players on the roster today who had never played in a playoff game and that has the Raiders' first, the Panthers' second and Minny's third round draft picks coming up. Not to mention that they were rolling over their opponents in the regular season with many key players injured.

It's just too bad that the Raiders had to pick this year to do good because that Fairley kid out of Auburn would be a beast next to Wilfork and the line is where we need the most work.

I don't think its fair to blame Brady too much for finally throwing a pick and getting hit with constant pressure (most of his incompletions were just throwaway passes) - it was just shoddy execution all around - Branch and Crumpler had some huge drops, Chung (who I adore) miscued what would have been a gimme on the fake punt and even BB seemed to try to outcoach himself in this one. The Welker benching was the "right" thing to do but it may have ultimately contributed to the red zone pick on that drive.

Oh well, heck of a rebuilding year. Hopefully the new CBA doesn't force teams to waive all their top talent.

As long as the Packers stay alive I will be ok. If its a Bears - Steelers/Jets SB I won't have anyone to root for and my poor head may explode.

Rodgers winning a SB is enough to make me think Brett Favre may tarnish his career even further!

It's not like my team is in the playoffs. I am just happy the playoffs are here and after these next two weekends of football, no more for months and months. I am looking forward to the draft quite frankly.

Well, now that the Pats aren't in the playoffs, speak for yourself about being happy the playoffs are here. Although I will root for the Packers, its just not the same. If the Packers are not in the SB, I probably won't watch it. I'll go golfing instead.

Holy crap I suck this year. I originally types our Pittsburgh and Green Bay, then switched it because I thought Baltimore would win and I didn't want to pick two upsets. I'm an idiot.

Green Bay
Pittsburgh

That's about all the thought I'm going to put into this one :)
