NFL Playoffs 2011 (Discussion and Pick'em Game)

And once again very, very poor tackling by the New Orlean's defense. Marshawn Lynch should have never gotten that 67 yard touchdown. There was way too many miss tackles by the Saints. They just gave the game away.

First off, Saints defense didn't come to play today. I'm sorry but I can't really give credit to Seattle, they weren't supposed to put 41 points on the board against the champs, they played atrocious defense against a sub par offensive team. They deserved to lose this game.

Regarding the Jets/Colts game, that last return by Cromartie just was too much for Indy. I mean that return alone took up almost 50 yards so that was just poor execution on special teams when you needed to stop them back at the 20.

Well, so far I am 0-2 and I wouldn't be surprised if I go 0-4 based on how my luck is. I hope tomorrows games are just as exciting, looking forward to it.

0-2 and yet 2 of the 3 teams I felt could match the Pats in an offensive shootout are now out of the playoffs. I'm not crying.

I hear Rex Ryan enjoys d'feet, can't wait for next week!!!

Wow Chiefs actually looked good in the first half and then total collapse. I don't think Haley is a particularly great coach. I still think Baltimore's offense is lacking but their D looked better than ever. Here is to the Steelers and Ravens pounding each other into the ground. No idea who I am going to pick in that one.

Can't wait for Brady to put tears in Rex Ryan's eyes.
I'm pretty sure Rex would just thank the Pats for giving them an extra week off to rest and have a snack before they play in the SuperBowl since the Jets were already crowned AFC champs in August.

That should wrap it up. Packers are the NFC team that scares me. I hope 3 in a row on the road is too tough for them.

Yeah me too. I think I will write every writer that voted for Vick in the MVP race a handwritten note telling them they are a moron once the voting is released :)

I am NOT so glad the eagles lost haha. They are going to be tough next year but they just didnt have a playoff caliber defense this year.

How do you pin it on a Philly defense who held GB under their average? They settled for too many field goals and missed 2 routine ones that would have given them the game.

If you had been told that GB would score 21 points before the game most would pick the Eagles.

Well with the weekend wrapped up I finished at 1-3. Sigh, this just isn't my year. The Chiefs were in it for the first half but in the second half the Ravens decided to put an end to anything resembling a close game. What a interception in the end by Green Bay, Eagles just were not very impressive today, at all.

Next week theres going to be some might fine games to watch. I'm going with New England over the Jets, Pittsburgh over the Ravens, Falcons over the Packers and Chicago over Seahawks.

I think the best game is going to be Pit vs Bal, it's going to be an absolute slug fest, punch you in your mouth type of game. In the cold Pittsburgh weather too! I look forward to watching a 10-7 type of scoring game won by Pit of course.

The best game for me is going to be the Patriots vs Jets. Since both teams can't stand each other, I am looking forward to this game.

That should be a good game as well, if the Jets keep running the ball like they did against the Colts they will keep Brady off the field and that's what you need to do. I still have the Pats going to the superbowl though, they just look way too good. You never know though in the playoffs.

I expect the only thing the Jets will be running is their mouths. Hopefully McFarlane will be inspired to do a reissue of my favorite doll.

I despise the Jets. And I never used to even give a rats a** about them. It's amazing what one man(Rex Ryan) can change. Did you hear his nonsense about manning being the best qb because he studies the game? And that tom Brady would like to think he is but that it's probably more of a belichick thing? Tom Brady is > than manning and it's almost reaching the point of not being up for debate anymore.

My suspicions that Todd Haley was the reason for the Chiefs collapse appear to have been confirmed. This would certainly explain why I went into half time thinking I nailed this pick and then right from the outset of the 3rd quarter it quickly went to hell, beginning with that idiotic sweep call.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/10/report-haley-stripped-play-calling-duties-from-weis/

Bob Fescoe of 610 Sports in Kansas City reports that Haley stripped Weis of the play-calling duties during the second half of the game. Which means that the horrendous showing is on the shoulders not of the guy who left the team, but of the guy who’ll still be there.

The news confirms Jason Whitlock’s in-game instincts. After the Chiefs tried to run a sweep on fourth and short early in the second half, Whitlock said via Twitter: “Todd Haley, ladies and gentlemen. He just put his stamp on the game with 4th-down call. And trust me, that was all Haley.”

It was all Haley. For all of the second half.

I've read so many quotes from Rex I am not even sure what to believe. Like did he really say that Manning would have watched the football game on TV (Tom Brady was in NY watching Lombardi on Broadway). Its not like TB isn't going to spend 40+ hours this week looking at tape from that game. It appears other people's feet aren't the only ones he's obsessed with sticking in his mouth.

I have a feeling there are more upsets brewing, but there is probably only one I will be bold enough to pick.

Hmm I'm gonna wait til later this week to make my picks this time. Mainly because I wanna know if Polamalu is gonna play. There is definitely a chance at some upsets again this week though
