Not a Kings grade post here, but Bonzi Wells just got faked out of his jockstrap by Luke Walton and spilled on the floor like a deck of cards in the LA vs. HOU game. Glad we went with K-mart.

I love Yao but T-mac is the heart and soul of that team. He scores, rebounds, passes, steals, a complete package. Without him they just can't win a game, they are like 6- 30. I think if yao went down t-mac could still will that team to the playoffs, i don't think yao is capable of doing that if t-mac did.
And supaimario, in your opinion, do you think that Magget would be a good fit for team? I know that you guys need more of a shooter and a big men then anything else but i think he would be good as a third scorer next to yao and T-mac. I think that the clippers would be interested in a trade for bonzi who is not working out there.
T-MAC COME BACK...
Seriously, this team can play three quarters but when it gets to the end, we just can't finish. T-Mac is the go to guy at the end of games because Yao just gets to exhausted by that point and no one else is worth a damn in the clutch. (Luther Head occasionally can do stuff but he'll also do stupid stuff as demonstrated today)
Seriously, Houston without T-Mac is the equivalent of a baseball team without a closer. You'll blow tons of games that way and we've blown two in a row like that.
But on Bonzi, he looks fine but he's just clueless as to what to do on offense. (which isn't his fault considering this is the first real time with the team that he's had) The problem is that this is an isolation offense that basically posts Yao or puts T-Mac on the wings. Yao either scores or kicks it out for jump shots. T-Mac penetrates and scores or kicks it out. Bonzi isn't a spot up shooter but the lane is so clogged up because of Yao and T-Mac that he's stuck doing stuff like spotting up. The only time he actually was effective was when Yao came out so Bonzi could work on the post. Also, Bonzi tried penetrating a couple of times and just looked ridiculous. I think he's still a little out of shape because he's not getting the lift that he normally should and those moves to the basket may have not been swatted away with such ease.
How about Jackson's strategy to let Yao have his way early in the game, his version of "rope a dope?" I think it's brilliant.
yes indeed a brilliant 2 OT victory over a team missing one of its stars.![]()

Oh, the Lakers didn't have Odom, 19 points, 10 rebounds 5 assists...
T-Mac>>Odom, lets not be silly here.
The stats disprove that.
T-Mac was a shell of himself the 1st 10 games of the year. During his last 5 games (excluding the cleveland game where he got injured), he put up 23, 31, 14, 23, and 28 while averaging 7 assists and 5 rebounds, 1 steal and a block.
He was just starting to get his game back before his back went berserk again. Also, the guy is money at the end of games when things are close. He's our closer and the guy who'll take the last shot of the game as opposed to Yao who hasn't developed that ability yet.
The only thing Odom has on him is rebounding which isn't even that important on a team that thoroughly outrebounds its opponents. Also, Odom's a power forward so he better be outrebounding a shooting guard

Odom is multi-faceted for his height. It's hard to make up for his output and his ability to drive to the rim, board, and dish. I'm not saying he's better than Tmac; I'm saying he's not <<<<<< than Tmac. He's certainly not as one-dimensional as you seem to describe him. He's a major part of a highly structured offense. He ain't there simply for boards.
Also, Yao hasn't shown enough dedication to physical fitness as he should. He gets tired. I wonder how many miles he jogged a day during the off season.

Sam Cassel wasn't a point guard? Kenny Smith wasn't bad either. You've had your glory days when Hakeem was there. On paper, really, Yao & TMAC should resemble close to being Shaq & Kobe. Unfortunately for the Rockets, Yao is not as tough mentally or as imposing as Shaq. TMAC doesn't have Kobe's heart.
