I would have drafted Turner over Willie. It is not rocket science. Turner was the more versatile scorer. He had a high release point on his shot. He could go left or right. Consensus is for suckers. Just like I wanted Drummond over T-Rob and Steven Adams over anyone other big man in that years draft.

Projecting players is not that hard, especially if you can see them up close to get a tangible sense of size, speed, agility and skill set. Size and speed can be hard to gauge on tape, but not so much in person. Guys like Sabonis and Buddy Hield fooled me a bit, because the former is too small for a center and the latter relatively small for a SG, but the skills are there.

But when you have the SIZE and the SKILL like Myles Turner, you do NOT dismiss him SO readily as Vlade did. He drafted a guy in Willie with size but NOT a lot of skill, and his LACK of progress over 3 years at Kentucky including propensity to sleep walk through games was a red flag.
