Alright, we got the 8th pick, options...

In my opinion Gordon has a lot more "Ifs" than Doug.

Gordon might break out and be star, hell anyone in the draft might, but I'm done with Gordon types on this team, position-less, master of none, athletes.

but again, thats just me.

Doug doesn't have a position either though. He's skilled but a little small for PF, and not quick enough (IMO) to play SF. Well, offensively he probably can, but he's going to be a sieve defensively no matter where you put him. He'll probably carve out a role for himself, but I'm not really a fan. He's way, way down my list. I'm tired of drafting people who can't defend. While I'm not a massive fan of Gordon's, I'd still take him over McDermott every day of the week.

If you only look at the offensive side, then I get the lukewarm feeling for Gordon....if you look at the defensive possibilities that Gordon could add, then that does excite me. With a guy like Gordon, I look less at his positional slot (PF, SF) and more at who he can guard which is going to be multiple positions...and guard them well. Fans loved Mbah a Moute the short time he was here....Gordon has a chance to be him and more with his athleticism and if he can develop adequate shooting to go with this.....a pretty damn good player.

McDermott.....defensive liability, probably best case scenario is a situational 3 point shooter

I'm right with you on this.

Fords latest mock came out. It had the Kings taking Smart, but mentioned Kings interesting in Love, Schroeder, and Brandon Knight. Meh.

Only way I listen to Schroeder is in a swap with Hordford. Brandon Knight? I want Henson or Sanders.

And there is a little bit of history with this sort of team/trade/name confusion. About a month before we traded for Gay, there was an Aaron Gray / Jimmer swap rumor. Same teams involved in the blockbuster Gay trade, just different names.

Both Detroit and Milwaukee have names that interest me, I just hope Ford is getting the lesser of the rumored names, and not the bigger pieces.

I'm hoping Milwaukee are desperate to dump Sanders, if you could pick him up and retain the 8th pick things are looking pretty.

even though thats extremely unlikely.

I have a feeling that we will be taking Saric if we keep the 8th pick (If Vonleh and Smart don't drop into our laps).

Just wondering what do you like out of Detroit?

Saric is expected to sign a long term deal with Turkish side Efes and the press in Balkans is writing that he is likely to pull his name out of the draft by the 16th.

He has publicly said that he has played last game for Cibona.

Saric?

Accordingly to hoopshype.com, the Bulls are interested in moving up in the draft:

http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/chicago_bulls

In one of the articles, it was rumored that the bulls were talking about the nuggets about the 11th pick for Chicago's 16th and 19th picks. I wonder if the Kings would bite at #8 if the bulls throw in the original kings future 1st round pick? I don't know if this rumor is even true, but if it is, I would hope Pete would be on the phone with the Bulls!

If Divac, Peja, and Shaq gave him a call, he might reconsider.

Let Rudy gay walk. Trade 8, Williams, and maccallum for knight and sanders. Sign Isaiah 4 years 28 million dollars. Sign mike Scott 2 years 8 million dollars and wait for 2015 when more sf's are available. Lineup becomes:

Pg: Brandon knight
Sg: Ben mclemore
Sf: mike Scott
Pf: Larry sanders
C: demarcus cousins
6th: Isaiah Thomas.

That lineup fixes 2 of our biggest weaknesses. Defense and the power forward position.

I really think we should try to trade JT, Outlaw and Terry for Sanders and take Stauskas at 8.

Work some sort of S&T for IT. Not sure what to do there.

A video from bleacher report on why we should take Stauskas. I didn't know he went to the line so much that is a great sign and a skill that translates to the nba. Jabri Parker only attempted .4 more free throw per game that means Stauskas isn't just a jump shooter he gets to the paint.

that's pretty evident when you look at his highlight videos. if you look at aaron gordon's highlight videos.. its mostly of dunks, put backs. we already have a former wildcat that does similar things at his same position (forward). both can handle the rock a bit, shoot a little bit, athletic and position-less.

Carmichael Dave just floated an idea about #8 for Holiday. Is Holiday even available? I'd do that trade if we can throw in Landry, others. Thoughts?

Do that in a heartbeat. We'd have to throw in contracts that work like JT/Outlaw/Terry. I don't see NO doing this though.

I'd do it if they offered but the Pels picture Reke and him as their backcourt of the future as soon as they can rid themselves of Eric Gordon.

Would require giant cahones for the Pels' front office to offer us Holiday for the #8 one year after they traded their #6 to get him.

Would require even gianter cahones for gerbil to offer the #8 for Reke one year after we just gave him away. :p

I had nonetheless thought of starting a troublesome thread about how many games would a Cousins/?/Gay/Evans/IT team win if we traded for Reke and retained those guys. :p

Fartlayer, that would be a scary lineup. We would almost certainly average less than one pass per pos.
