Kantar sucks and has literally zero defence. The Jazz were like 2-30 with him as a starter, no thanks I will pass on that. Carl Landry at his limited size is a better defender and score's as well/better and won't command the type of money the overrated Kantar will.Do you really value Kanter that much?![]()

Sorry I was meant to quote dude12 not youUmm.. You might want to rethink what Brick was saying (and my response)
Go to draftexpress and you can see a video breakdown on all these guys. Very detailed. Strengths and weaknesses. When watching a guy make sure you watch the weaknesses part as well. Aloof these guys look great in the highlight part of the video.I have never seen ahy of the draft prospects play or on videos, so my information comes from the many mock drafts and their revisions plus reading comments and assessments on here. With my readings up to June 1 I'm impressed with the many decent choices the FO has. Gordon, Ennius, Randle, Vonleh, Harris, Tyler, McDermott, Smart, and a few others have been our pick according to one or another. This leads me to believe the FO will have a decent choice depending on what their plans are. Encouraging.
Why would the Jazz give up on the only decent big man they have? They already got Burkes @SG who atm is better than Ben (I will take Ben over him long term).A. Do you think the #8 pick could net us Derrick Favors without including Ben?
B. Would it be a good trade for both teams?
Derrick Favors is a insane trade for us awful for Utah.
We get a massive athletic defensive body/offensive rebounder next to Cousins who's potential is still huge, he's shown improvement in his jumper and he's got more of a passive quiet type personality which again fits in next to Cousins. Favors can and will be a game changer at the defensive end. The chances imo of Smart/Gordon/whoever is 8th pick being more of a game changer than Favors is slim.Okay how and why.

I'd love Favors next to Cousins, though.
If (And I know it's only a pipe dream) we could offer up some kind of package to get Favors and Pick 5 from Utah, and draft Smart at 5, that would be incredible.

Sure, why not. Landry, Thompson and Outlaw for the #5 and Favors? hahaha! As long as you're dreaming we might as well make Landry the centerpiece of the package.![]()
Hopefully the Kings can have a Port Adelaide like turnaround as well, where the team goes all out effort for 4 quarters with endless hustle and bustle.I'd love Favors next to Cousins, though.

The more I think about it though, Utah might be open to trading down from the #5. I'm sure we could give them #8 and something to make it enticing, and make sure we get Smart.

Port were in the exact situation the Kings are in now a couple seasons back where they managed to hold onto a couple of there gun players like Boak while others like Westoff finally reached there potential and began to dominate. It all came from a no nonsense coach and basically if you were not fit and able to run (defend) the whole game you would not get a game at all.
The Favors+5 deal is lunacy but I think you're on to something about Utah and possibly trading down. It seems like any of the PFs in the 5-8 range (Randle, Vonleh, Gordon) could fit there, in different ways. Meanwhile, I'd love the chance to assure the Kings get a guy like Smart at 5.
But the question is--what value could the Kings add to #8 to move up? Sad to say, there aren't many assets available short of McLemore, who I don't think would be worth trading to move up three spots. The Jazz have plenty of cap room as it is, and no bad contracts to dump. Maybe Pete could work his magic to acquire a late 1st somehow, that he could turn around and package with #8 to move up. But I'm not seeing anything realistic.
If we trade down I really like adreian Payne. At 23 he probably won't improve his game much, but he is a great rebounder and can stretch the floor with his shooting. His post game needs work but he's really physical and has a ton of athleticism. I really think he'd do we'll next to cousins.
Definitely a shot blocking threat as well
Smart is going back to Orlando for a second workout according to him, so he's obviously drawing interest as high as 4.
I want Marcus Smart in purple and black so bad. We'll get a second chance at having a freak at PG. As much as I love Reke the difference betwen him and Smart is heart. Reke had every physical gift imaginable but he wasn't fiery enough. Marcus Smart is a pitbull who won't back down from the Russell Westbrooks of the world.
