Wanted -- yeah, that was dumb.
Maid of Honor -- Not even remotely my decision. At all. But, at least I was treated to a delicious lunch this afternoon for being nice enough to sit through it. Without making too many snide comments.
Beware!
Just have to say that if you are at all squeamish. It is right up there with the most brutal films I have seen in mainstream filmaking. There are no flinches, no quickcuts, nothing sacred. Many many bad and violent things happen, and you see every inch of it, and actively root for a lot of it. And the big action sequence near the end makes the Omaha Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan look like Driving Miss Daisy.
Yeah, I watched it tonight and you weren't kidding. Woo, boy. I particularly liked the shot of the armored boat driver catching a 50-cal (or whatever it was) right through the torso and the camera angle showing the shot trough the torso, and the boat wall, to see light on the other side. Until he crumples, of course.
Oh yeah, this is the newest Rambo movie, BTW.
I was hoping someone would see Slumdog and comment on it. I'm really looking forward to it coming out on video. After watching the Golden Globes, it just seemed like it would be well worth watching...
Thanks, D-Mass!
