I didn't see Caspian, nor could I get through the first film in one sitting, but it is surprising that they are pulling funding. It seems like they really botched the release by going for a summer instead of Christmas release and perhaps marketed it differently than the first, where they relied heavily on church group word of mouth type stuff.

It still did ok at the box office and got mostly positive reviews. I wonder who pulled funding though, Disney or Walden. Disney wouldn't surprise me because they expect each film to outgross the last, I'd expect Walden to press forward and find another partner or drop the budget.

Was obliged to watch High School Musical 3 with my wife and son. Really, why do they make these????

Just watched 88 Minutes. It was OK. Guessed some of what was going on early on. Not his best work, but not a bad flick.

I as dragged to Coraline by a friend, reluctantly. I slept through a lot of it. I wish I had slept through the entire thing. On the way out she said, "you were right!" Little did I know, she wanted to walkout after the first 20 minutes or so! I wish she had said something!!

The X Files : I want to believe.

I realllly wanted to like it, but it was kind of dumb .. basically 1 really long episode .. and not even a good episode.

I guess if you liked the series its worth a look, but I was expecting more.

Yeah I really liked that one, I've seen it twice. Obviously not Pacino's best, but I think it's definitely worth checkin out

Hellboy II -- was disappointing. I rather unexpectedly liked the first one, but it wasn't as fresh this time and they beat you over the head with what themes there were.

Starship Troopers 3 -- well for the small but resolute fanclub of the original flop, they should be happy -- this was a true sequel in nearly every way (the 2nd one took the name but not the style). They even brought back Caspar Van Diem (this is generally not a good thing). This one truly wanted to slavishly imitate the first though, except it was in every way inferior. The TV broadcasts lacked all sense of subtlety and sometimes even of focus, the special effects were considerably worse (no surprise on direct to video), the characters acted nonsensically, and even the acting was worse..which if you have ever seen the original was just astounding.

as long as that was all you were expecting, it didn't disappoint. and yeah, just to hear the theme one more time..i gotta buy it, i need the complete collection.

Just watched Changeling, pretty intense, thought it would be boring but it was really sort of gripping. Another crazy good movie by Clint Eastwood. If you want to know why they changed the name of Wineville to Mira Loma then give this a look (you all probably didn't know that Mira Loma had a different name once huh?)

Choke -- Sam Rockwell was a perfect choice for Victor Mancini, and there were some good moments peppered throughout the film, but I was prepared to be disappointed by this one. A lot of my favorite moments from the novel were missing (not surprising, really), which was too bad.

I watched Zach and Miri Make a Porno, or whatever its called yesterday. The funny parts were funny, but when it got to the lame part where the friends realize they love each other it got lame. But the funny parts were good, and I learned what a Dutch Rudder was.

Just saw ''Madea Goes To Jail'' Tyler Perry is a fool. Funny & with a mix of drama. Actually the characters were very convincing, I liked the mixed stories. The guy can direct & He/She Perry is a talent:)
I give it a B+

The House Bunny -- aggressively stupid movie that tried to do the wraparound thing and get me laughing at just how stupid it was, as well as laughing at myself for laughing at the thing for just how stupid it was, followed by the guilt and embarrassment for having laughed at any of the above moments. But while I could never recommend it to anybody per se, when a movie gives you absolute cliches and completely predictable see them coming a mile away jokes and still makes you occassionally laugh at them...well, it was not a complete loss. Besides, Anna Faris must have been hitting the gym for months before this one -- her body looked amazing. :p

Just watched Nights in Rodanthe..good movie, but should have warning label for overly emotional pregnant women.
I'm not a big fan of chick flicks anyway and by the time this one got to a critical point I was looking for objects - sharp or dull - with which to gouge out my eyes. I ended up watching Ghost Rider just to get the yucky out of my system.

;)

Just watched street fighter legend of Chun Li. What a waste. It got so bad it was funny. The casting director should be shot along with the director. Also Klien has to be worst actor of his generation. It got so bad that over half of the people in the theater was laughing while the rest cut thier loses andr left.

The International. A wild ride of an international spy-good guy-bad guy type movie with a very sobering and scary ending. Deals with international banking and how they just may be bigger than the governments of the Big 8 industrial nations. Clive Owen is good in this role.

I watched the 1927 silent film "Metropolis". Interesting movie on several fronts - I wanted to see this classic, but also to see the sci-fi set design of the time, some (unanticipated) near-nudity in a movie of that era, and just a movie from that era in general.

Only problem is I was so darn tired last night I dozed off a few minutes at a time before the end - but this was not a reflection on the movie itself.

Somehow I think this is a movie GGG would enjoy.

Oh, BTW, I also have tickets to the 5pm showing of Watchmen today. Never read the story, but it is Guy's Movie Night tonight, so I went and got tickets yesterday.
