IMDB seems to have its movie ratings wonked to hell. The home version is unrated and is probably the NC17 cut, it features a whopping 18 seconds of extra footage, which is mostly Christian Bale's naked buttocks. I was going to settle for the R myself... now I demand it. No naked Bale buttocks for you G3.
BTW, like with Grindhouse the little picture rating at the top says one thing but if you scroll down to the film info below it clearly states it was a US R, if you click the "see all certifications" link it then shows all ratings it got. You can also go to http://movie-censorship.com/ to get a full explanation of many movies different versions. This site is most definitely NSFW as a whole, nor is the entry for American Psycho which shows a few still frames from the censored scenes.

Will say, however, that this pick was one of the ones I was thinking of the other day when I first raised my concerns about the no NC-17 ruling. Not because I have any particular attachment to my precious extra seconds of Bale ***, mind you, but just because it seems to throw in a bit of unnecessary confusion on a pick that I'm pretty sure we can all agree a) isn't porn, and b) should be allowed. Based on my own tastes and direction I've gone so far (as well as the route pdx seems to be taking), I'd be surprised if this didn't remain a sticky wicket throughout the draft.
