The SF Question

Which of these high-dollar SF options would you pursue with our cap space?

Omri gone. Wright gone. Garcia gone. all these today. only 1 left that I would like thats AK. and 1 left that don't just make me puke thats brewer. Even though brewer doesn't seem to be a good fit. So it has to be more and more apparant that we will aquire this SF via trade.

Jason jones said we haven't even contacted ak47. Looks like we put all our time and effort on the real need...Carl Landry

You know, I am trying to be as positive as possible regarding all these moves and I do realize another trade is coming in some way shape or form, but if we are looking at a SF, who exactly is available? Deng and Gay come to mind, along with Granger, but that's a huge risk because his knees are an unknown. Deng is my favorite (although I would rather have Butler). Gay is just ridiculously overpriced. It just seems like our options are limited.

Sam Young should not even be an option. I'd rather have Donte Green back

If we are getting a good SF, it will be via trade. And, btw, thank god Garcia and Omri are gone...

I mind Sam Young less than some. He's tough, tries on defense. Be the first we've done that makes sense. Just sense as a 9th-10th man, not anything more. You don't "target" guys like Young with any thought to them fixing things. Just as background flavor.

well i feel better thinking that we are talking to other teams for trades and such just because the landry signing was out of the blue. there was not talk about it at all. as pointless as it was.

Sam Young is a nothing burger with a side of air... His stat line is a tabla-rosa, But that does mean he has huge potential since he has nowhere to go but but up (statistically) But hey he does hustle on D so there is that. For the right price he might make a nice piece to round out a roster. were that our roster any where near rounding out.

At this point Sam Young and James Johnson are the wrong type of SF's to have on this team. We now need a legit SF that can create for himself and score. Nothing really on the market so I suspect someone overpaid may be a target for us to trade for

Oh i agree I think this was for 13th-15th roster guy type stuff.

I vote Johnson just because its cool having an MMA fighter on the team and his different hair styles are cool to look for.

with the emphasis on shooting, the indifference to defense and the apparently crucial GS ties, anybody think that we'll target Anthony Morrow? would kinda fit into that veteran wing that can maybe hit shots for one or two years thing PDA talked about in that Voisin article. he's an FA still. the Kings haven't been brought up among the teams that have contacted him, but seeing as how most of our acquisitions so far have come without any chatter beforehand that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Well we don't want Morrow?

Grizzlies, Warriors, Bobcats are latest teams to express interest in Anthony Morrow. Lakers, Spurs, Suns, Rockets, Knicks reached out too.

Carlos delfino gone to the bucks at 3.5 mil a year for 3 years. I think he's more of a sg but saw some posters mentioning him. Also could lessen the chances of a trade of a guard for one of their bigs

yeah, as I said, we haven't been brought up in connection to him. still, didn't hear a peep about the FO wanting McLemore, Calderon or Landry either until suddenly we did. most things have been coming out of left field lately, why shouldn't Morrow?

That guy sucked so bad lol I know your joking around but the flashbacks of him driving the court like a drunk man still turn my stomach.

There's actually another small forward out there who brings toughness, defense and shooting, but I'm actually afraid to say his name. I'm talking about Stephen Jackson. He's a nutcase at best, but the dude can play and has experience. In my opinion he'd be a significant upgrade over Salmons basketballwise. But can he coëxist with a young coach and team?

edit:

Cool interview with him btw. on Grantland, didn't even see it before I posted my suggestion.

He's a former Warrior, so I expect we sign him any minute now ;)

I'm wondering tow things:

1) whether we can get insurance to pay the remainder of these guys' contracts after Boogie gets done throttling them to death

2) whether there's anyway we can get Boogie off on justificable homicide when it inevitably happens :p

How about seperate locker rooms and practice facilities?

And I was coming here with the MWP thing as a joke.

It really has reached the point where you're thinking sure...

But its also reached the point where we could create such a cluster **** that we lose a franchise center who leaves town shaking his head in disgust. MWP scares me for that reason. Hi Boogie, we really want you to be our franchise guy. Here's a new batch of chuckers to take your shots, and oh, how about a certifiable loon as the cherry! Have fun this season!

It would literally double my chances of getting behind this idea if we announced we had signed Cuz to that max extension this summer.

What has Cousins done to deserve an extension? Three years of loafing up and down the floor, complaining about everything, yelling at coaches, and who knows what else behind closed doors, and yes showing great talent in spurts(not even close to enough to forgive the other stuff). Giving someone like that an extension, let alone a max extension would be the dumbest move ever. Let Cousins prove himself this season and reward him if he changes, if its the same old thing Vivek will ship his butt out of here. I'll be the first to say good riddance if he doesn't change.
