i will be happy with either wright or brewer....i dont see our names being involved with either of them though...actuallly i dont see our names involved with anyone now..oops i did see us interested in darren collison lol...i mean what is pda doing? how long can u have a sleepover with demarcus in alabama??? we have to overpay for guys right now! before they settle to take less to play with contending teams....Dorrell wright or corey brewer 3/15mil and Brandan Wright 3/12mil or 3yr/15mil...we have to get over the salary floor..smh do SOMETHING PETE UR KILLIN ME.
Please no. Don't waste space on mid level guys. It's how we got here in the first place. I'd rather offer someone a massive one year deal if they aren't the long term solution.

I agree it's going to be extremely difficult to maximize our cap space which is why yhe rvans trade is such a waste of sn asset. But filling the team with mid level talent repeats the last 7 years. Anybody eager to do that?

extremely difficult?? it has never happened! thats how difficult it is...we will never build this team with a big free agent signing that is why we should go out and get these mid level guys right now if we think they can help us or fill a role! then when we still suck and get a good draft pick and bulid through the draft or make a decent trade the main guys will have people to play with, maybe even packaging some of these mid level guys...that is how we will build a team...have u seen the old kings our big free agent was vlade divac...was he seen as a big time all star free agent when we signed him?? no, but he now has his jersey hung up in the rafters because he was a perfect fit for our team and was a key component in our glory years in sac...and how long do you think we have to spend money? after next year if we max out cousins moneys gone..

Rather than free agency I think the bigger plan is to maybe be able to operate as place to dump a salary for a team with large salary they can no longer afford, I..e Gay in Toronto or Deng in Chicago or Granger in Indiana.

Because otherwise as sdballer was saying the Reke trade then becomes a complete waste by an amateur who doesn't understand the market.

I like the idea of Derrick Williams, but he averaged .6 assists a game playing about 25 minutes. Not even 1 assist a game! He is purely a scorer and I don't think PDA wants a player like that (shooting and passing you know... most important traits!)

I think so too. And I would be ok with Deng or Gay, I don't care if they are overpaid. We need to use that cap space and we won't do it in free agency.

that would be a joke. sad that it resembles a real post. pretty telling what par is for FA signings here in Sacramento.

I'd like Gay now that his vision is fixed, but how could we go about acquiring him? MT, our most valuable trade asset, is useless to them, as they have DeRozan, who is a proven starter, and Ross, who shows lots of promise. They could use JT, but he alone isn't near enough. We may have to give up draft picks, and that is something I REALLY don't want.

According to Jason jones, we haven't contacted ak-47 yet.
Which is troubling. While I have little confidence we CAN get him to sign here, the one thing we can do is back up a truck load of cash to his front door for him. He is now the best SF available in FA at this point so why not try? I suppose the idea that having a ton of cap space after all the FA's are snapped up might give us a unique position to pick and choose in salary dumps but really is that much different than dumpster diving for players?

In particular since this whole saga began with us trying to dump a huge contract on Iggy, we obviously as recently as 5 days ago were planning on using the capspace to sign a major vet. Of course if AK wasn't interested in singing with us last year, not sure why after we go off get cheap with Reke and now he's going to want to come? But its a call you have to make.
