Stern/NBA planned to interupt the Kings again lol it seems like it always happens >.<

Saw most of the game and the bigs did not disappoint!

How can you doubt something you have no knowledge of? Unless you personally know Mario Elie or were you at Las Vegas standing behind the bench overheard their conversation or something?

It just doesn't sound realistic since Cousins is the man of interest on that team and I don't think they told him to take pull up 20 foot jumpers and try to take his man off the dribble from 20 feet out.

I'm not trying to crap on Cousins, just calling it like I see it. I think it's important we don't let him develop bad habits like Hawes did.

It's so nice to have length out there for once. We got our hands on so many balls and Detroit couldn't really do anything out there against us. Whiteside is just a crazy shotblocker.

I know its only one [practice] game but I'm very excited for the Kings. Cousins is going to be a stud. I like Thompson, too. Too bad I missed the 4th quarter due to the press conference. I didn't look for the game online. Whiteside had a couple of sweet snuffs. Gooo Kings!!!

In summer league though they might want to get a look at other players inside game but still want to keep Cousins out there on the floor to see how he adjusts.. It's not a worry to me because I watched pretty much all his college games and he never made a habit of being an outside shooter.. He does put the ball on the floor a bit more than to my liking, but he's a friggin awesome player, and I got this feeling we might have a brand spanking new Chris Webber with Whiteside being a brand spanking new Keon Clark.

EDIT: ugh what's the deal with the site lately? Seems like whenever there are more than 500 people on the site at once the board takes about 5 minutes to load each and every post or whatever... When the updates happened did Glenn go with an inferior server?

Whiteside and Cousins were a pretty good defensive combo out there, but Whiteside still has a lot to learn defensively.

Cousins has showed this game that can be a truly special post player with his footwork, passing, ball handling, strength, and touch. The only thing he lacks is explosiveness, but he has more than enough to make up for that. He just needs to be more disciplined out there and play within himself.

My concern though is that he might think he has offensive freedom now that he's out from under Calipari's rule.

I can't see it happening. I think you are getting worried about nothing. It was so damn nice seeing Cousins body up on the defensive end, and Whiteside coming in behind him if a shot got up.. It was men against boys out there today. Our interior D was amazing.

wow Demarcus Cousins double double 14 points and 10 rebounds and Hassan Whiteside with 5 blocks! Omri Casspi and Ryan Thompson good games as well

We turned Detriot into a jump shooting team.. Was a LOT of fun to watch because we have seen that go the other way so many times where the kings had to become a jump shooting team. Gotta love defense!

I agree with everyone that our 2 main bigs played well in their debuts. But somehow... the Pistons ended up beating us in the rebounds department 37 to 36 ..

I am kinda with Vlade on this one, he needs to be doing most of his work in the post, coming out to set screens and taking the 15 footer when the opportunity presents itself is fine, but he shouldn't get to the point where he feels too comfortable taking jumpshots instead of pounding in the paint.

But no I am not worried ... yet. I imagine he will be in the post more next game as well :)

Cousins had 14/10 in 25 minutes. Good lord! Whiteside had a HUGE impact on the game, not just the stat sheet. Casspi looked pretty damn good. Hes more of an offensive threat than Greene. Got to love Casspi's style of play.

This is going to be a GREAT year!!! The ARCO THUNDER is coming back baby!!!!!!

I usually keep my TDOS enthusiasm to a minimum but WOW!!! We've got a WHOLE new attitude now! GP might be in the running for another Exec of the Year, too...and he hasn't even finished his offseason tooling either! I cant WAIT until teams like San Antonio with Duncan, that damn team in Miami with that Bosh guy, and whatever other team has 'big guys' that have been dominant against us in the past...there's a new sherrif in town baby, and he goes by 3 letters: DMC!!

Whiteside was changing shots, and blocking shots.. Cousins was muscling them down low, and Greene was also using his length to alter shots.. Pistons couldn't get anything consistent going inside. When they tried to go inside someone would alter or block their shot. Monroe could only finesse his way past Cousins. Physically he wasn't giving up and space.
