if a pick (guessing second rounder) and a middling prospect on a bad contract is all it takes for Jonas, the Kings can beat the Nuggets offer.
they are going all in it seems. I’m still shocked they are willing to trade MPJ for Lavine but I guess they think he has the skill set they need and since both players have injury history they figure it’s worth the risk.

LaVine when healthy is a more talented player for sure. Not sure about the defense of a Murray/LaVine backcourt though. That's pretty brutal on paper. The Nuggets have to do something though. However at the end of the day they are always just skirting around the big issue and that's as soon as they run into a pick and roll powerhouse Jokic is a sitting duck. The year they won he had to full on commit to defending along with a little luck of it being a down year at the top end of the conference. Maybe going all offense is indeed the best route at this point.

Well, it sounds like that pick is protected. The issue with Monte moving picks like that is he already did it with Huerter. Can't move any more future picks unless it's a legit piece coming back. It's too dangerous. The unprotected pick swap in '31 for DeRozan was dangerous enough.

I'm seeing fans of other teams (like the Thunder and Mavs) clamoring for Deni Avdija. I think he would make a whole lot of sense for the Kings too. Not sure how the Kings can go about trading for him though. Any ideas?

Portland traded two first round picks.

Wizards get:

Malcolm Brogdon
Carlton Carrington (14th overall pick)
2029 first-round pick (second-most favorable from Portland)
2028 second-round pick
2030 second-round pick

Trail Blazers get:

Deni Avdija

I’ve thought a lot about trying to buy low, but Portland is also not in any rush to sell low, I’d imagine. Maybe if you also get Time Lord you offer two picks and see if they’ll take that to be made whole?

If DFS got a first that has to take us out on Cam. After what we saw today, we better not trade Carter and more for Cam. That kind of lunacy might be enough to send my fandom packing. That leaves Kuzma or Collins. It has to be one it’s Collins all the way for me.

We were never trading Carter for Cam but if they get a first for DFS than they’ll be getting a kings ransom for cam

Would it not be DeRozan with way worse offense but more playmaking (not needed really with Sabonis/Fox) and equally bad spacing?

with less iso, less points per game... but more defense (including the ability to be a lead defender), more spacing (36% on 5.5 3PA vs 31% on 2.2 3PA per 36, and including a willingness to stay in the corner), more play-making, more height, more rebounds (+4 rebounds per 36).

I think Deni would just fit much better with either Murray or DeRozan in the lineup, compared to playing Murray + DeRozan as the two Forwards. This might also help to bring more out of Murray, DeRozan and others.

Not ideal fit but yeah you are correct he's a very unselfish player , I do think his best role is off the bench but another playmaker would not hurt.
