Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

For what it's worth at the end of the day, it actually feels pretty damn good to see us included in the top 3 of such a list. Usually, we're top 3 when it comes to middle of the pack players, but to see that someone out there thinks we have the third best odds of landing Trae is something!!!

Off topic, but have you worked for BlackBerry at some point?

Why’s Orlando even on the list they gave up all there picks for Bane and I doubt they’d give up Franz for him. I don’t see Houston going after him as well would mean giving up Reed who they think highly of and is on a rookie deal.

If Perry is keen on trading Carter that bad then packaging Carter with Lavine and a couple firsts for Young should beat out an offer from Brooklyn and Phoenix. Allows us to start Ellis/Keegan again would need to grab a three and D wing and hope Keegan can take the next step to becoming a scorer

don't do it Orlando. they are doing a fine job of establishing a defensive identity and this would neuter them. Stay the course, continue to develop Paolo and Franz and then eventually upgrade Franz when the opportunity strikes to get over the hump and contend.

Trae Young has always had supporting casts (defense , Length, shooting, good around the rim bigs)any other elite player would carry deep in the East and he's missing the playoffs getting bullied by Davion Mitchell in the play in.

Maybe the most overrated player of this generation I would stay far away from him
No, that would be Bronny

I may be the only one, Sabonis is an All-Star in his prime and these guys are both just starting their NBA careers, but I absolutely make that trade as the Kings.

We'd be getting 20 year old Ron Holland II and 21 year old Jalen Duren -- both of whom are plus defenders. Tobias Harris is on an expiring contract so that clears the bulk of Sabonis' salary off our salary cap next summer. And they're giving us 2 first round picks too? That's a massive bail out deal for the mess we're in now. It opens up a path to signing Kuminga as an UFA next summer if GS continues to play hard ball and suddenly we'd have a super young team that is loaded with quality wings, actually has a chance to be pretty good on defense, and has the future draft capital to trade up in 2026 or 2027 if the right PG is there for the taking.

I'm not a fan of dealing Sabonis, but I agree with @The_Jamal ...this move would actually make sense. It would make this present season borderline unwatchable until we ship out Zach and DDR, but it makes sense.

We would never be presented with this offer from Detroit or any other team. That is a massive overpay for Domas.
It isnt.

Kings fans truly love disrespecting one of the only All-NBA talents this franchise has ever had. He's not perfect, he's not Jokic, but he's also one of 25 or so guys thats in contention for all nba year in and year out. That should never come cheap, in a trade

I only followed duren for betting purposes is he really a plus defender? I like Holland very young and promising guy with size that we need

I think it's already going to be borderline unwatchable until we ship out Zach and DDR regardless. Nique Clifford and Keon Ellis riding the bench while we run a backcourt of Schröder, LaVine, and DeRozan en route to 41 wins ought to be a criminal offense.

Naw. It’s not disrespect to say this is an overpay for Domas. Absolutely not. Perhaps you are overrating Domas. Perhaps you are undervaluing the value of the Detroit proposed package.

We won’t know until an actual Domas deal is completed and then someone can say…..”See!”

It would not be surprising at all. I mean, they managed 40 wins just last season amidst the bumpy DeMar DeRozan experiment, the Mike Brown firing, the De'Aaron Fox trade demand, the mid-season integration of Zach LaVine, and the general feeling of malaise surrounding the state of the franchise.

The issue isn't that the roster as constructed can't finish with a .500 or better record; they very easily could. The issue is whether or not they have any kind of ceiling beyond the 9th/10th seed out west. Most would say that they don't, and that it's not worth investing in any kind of "win now" approach as a result.

Should no other major off-season moves be made, I could see this roster finishing with anywhere from 38-45 wins, which again, only realistically keeps them in the hunt for a bottom-tier play-in seed. You need somewhere in the vicinity of 48 wins just to finish 8th in the Western Conference.

I guess I am just completely dejected on this roster, but I think 35 is our ceiling with this squad. The roster strength is 6 players who duplicate each other. It just makes no sense. We could trade 3 guards and still not have enough playing time for all our guards.

This roster as is would have to be managed in a way where some of the regulars would have to allow them to be played in a way that’s best for the team irregardless of their ego.

You have enough defensive oriented players to keep 2-3 on the floor at all times in Keon, Keegan, Devin and Nique. Let the other guys fill in the offensive roles. If they commit to defense, maybe they can squeeze out more. I don’t believe Christie will go that route and he will cater to the veteran egos.

Our over/under is 36.5 Vegas won’t be wrong on this sorry roster by 5 wins the west got better we didn’t. So many teams can seep the season series vs us on athleticism and size alone if we Ben match up talent wise

The west, indeed, got better, and while the Kings roster situation has not substantially improved, they're likely to be better, as well, by virtue of franchise stabilization after a period of severe upheaval.

Again, I don't have anything resembling an optimistic outlook on the team, at present, but there's plenty of talent on the roster, mismatched though it is. I don't care what Vegas says, estimating that the Kings reach or breach .500 is not some outlandish prediction. Nor is it any kind of laudable goal, either.
