Playoff Update (Merged)

Playoff Seeding predictions....

This is how I think the Western Conference will finish. I am not going by record, but what seed/matchups they will finish going into the first round.

1. San Antonio (Southwest Champs)
2. Phoenix (Pacific Champs)
3. Denver (Northwest Champs)
4. Dallas
5. LA Clippers
6. Memphis
7. Sacramento
8. LA Lakers

I feel that the Hornets are going to come apart in the last half month or so and miss out on the playoffs. And anyway, who wants to see the Hornets in the playoffs? :)

San Antonio beats Lakers in 4
Phoenix beats Kings in 6
Memphis beats Denver in 7
Dallas beats Clippers in 5

Tonight:

Nuggs at Rockets - Nuggs win, too deep and athletic for the Rockets.

Clippers at Jazz - Clips win, likely no AK again, and Jazz won't have enough anyways.

Lakers at Warriors - Hopefully Warriors win. Not really expecting it though.
Well, tonight was not my night... Clippers tied it, then blew it. Warriors continue to be atrocious.

Tonight:

Magic at Jazz - I'd say either can get this, both coming off losses, Magic on Saturday, Jazz yesterday. Just hope the Magic win.

Spurs at Lakers - Spurs definitely win.

Hornets start their tough 7-game stretch vs. the Suns tonight also.

u know..if we do make it to the playoffs and have to play the spurs..were soooooo screwed...but oh well :) go kings!!!!
I know that we may lose but we have played the spurs pretty well this season. At least it would be somewhat entertaining. I would much rather play Dallas. They fall apart in the playoffs and I think the same is going to happen this year.

If we actually make it to the playoffs, it will be because the team deserves to be there. It won't be like last year, where we limped in and didn't stand much of a chance.

The Kings team that goes this year will have confidence, DEFENSE, and determination. And they would have nothing to lose, since no one expects them to even be there. That makes them dangerous.

If the Kings are playing in May, then it's because they've earned it BIG TIME!

I will be posting my new update on Tuesday after the NJ game but right now the stats show the Kings needing to run about .700 for the rest of the season.

AMEN to what VF said. The team this year is heading up, and towards finding a REAL identity.

Its going to be very close though. More than anything the one stat I am looking at is the number of losses we have. IMO I think we can sustain 6-8 mor losses, but thats it. If we hit the 40 loss mark I think our chances are about 10.87654% of making the playoffs.

i think we can round that off to 10.9 %. ;)

Here are the Lakers' tough games remaining:

vs. SA
@ NO/OK
@ SA
@ SAC :)
vs. MIN (back to back after we handle them)
@ NJ
@ CLE
@ BOS
vs. SAC :)
vs. SA
@ SEA (50/50)
vs. HOU (playing better)
@ DEN
@ PHX
vs. LAC
vs. PHX

I don't think we are going to have to worry about these chumps. In fact, I predict that we will be past them by the time they play San Antonio for the last time, if not well before that.

Here are the Jazz's tough games remaining:

vs. DAL
@ MIA
@ ATL (50/50)
@ MEM
vs. PHX
vs. SAC :)
@ DEN
@ LAC
vs. SA
@ MIN
vs. HOU (playing better)
vs. DEN
@ NO/OK
@ DAL
@ SA

I see troubles ahead for Utah as well. Not to mention the fact that they probably won't do that well on the other games either.

I think that Houston has dug too much of a hole to make a comeback, but Denver showed us all it can happen last year. Between NO/OK and Memphis it is likely that one of those teams slides down a little. Even if they don't, I think the door is wide open for a #8 seed, which we don't want. We need to play consistently to even get to that point anyway. But I know we can, and I will enjoy watching us do it. I also feel that Mem or NO will slide just enough for us to make a push for #7 which would be much much better for us. Anyway rip my thoughts apart all you want, it is just my 2 cents. :)

GO KINGS!

^^That's simply not true.

November - 7 wins, 8 losses
December - 5 wins, 9 losses
January - 7 wins, 9 losses
FEBRUARY - 7 wins, 4 losses

For the first time this season, in February the Kings were able to put together a winning record. I don't see that as a continuation of the downward spiral they had been trapped in.

They aren't going to win every game. They are going to lose some everyone would have thought they'd win and they'll win some pretty much everyone thought they'd lose. That much doesn't change. It happens to every team in the league on a regular basis.

I don't know about anyone else but if you had told me right before the Artest trade that we would actually be seriously making a run for the playoffs, I would have laughed.

I have hope in this team again. I have faith in their abilities and, more importantly, I think they do, too.

I don't think it's anything like "one step forward and 2 back"... not any more.

I think ultimately that will be right about Houston, they're kinda close, but not quite to us or the Jazz yet. NOK has their tough 7-game stretch starting tonight, indeed. Grizzlies I think stay pretty good. I disagree on wanting the 8th spot if it's Dallas, and if Duncan isn't healthy where he can't play (as in the not not-healthy he is now with the PF), be some different with the Spurs. Regardless of all that, and whatever spot we possibly do get, it'll be good experiences for SAR/Kevin/Garcia, even Jamal Sampson (likely not to play, but still in the atmosphere).

I'd like Rick to make the playoffs for fis sake, and I'd also like to see this team gel a bit more and charge into the playoffs looking to upset someone.

But that's just me. :)
