Playoff Update (Merged)

I don't think Phoenix really cares, and they know the Lakers can't beat them in the playoffs. They've had their number all year, why would they try to help us?

Suns are missing FTs now. Aren't they the best FT shooting team in the league?

If so, you'd think they'd make it a little less obvious that they do not want to play us.

Oh please. The Suns are not missing FTs to keep from playing the Kings.

What's going on in LA is a travesty. The Phoenix Suns are a proud team with proud young men. They're being subjected to a humiliating loss that is solely for strategic purposes and I'm pretty sure they'd rather be having root canal surgery.

Ultimate traveshamockery is that Kobe was still playing. Stat padding anyone???

i think it kinda works out for the lakers and kings; i don't think lakers match up well against the spurs, and i don't think the kings match up well against phoenix.

as for phoenix and san antonio, i don't think they care who they face.

Kings don't match up well against Suns? Why? And who does?
the running. the damn constant running; i think the kings are less athletic than the lakers.

and i also think the running game of phoenix takes brad miller out of the kings entirely; with the spurs, i think it's more conventional and we'd be able to use him more.

i don't think anyone matches up well to phoenix's running game, but the lakers do better than the kings.

I guess thats why we are 2-2 against them...and the Lakers havent beaten the suns since they acquired nash <img>

The Lakers-Suns game is getting pretty physical now, according to the ESPN radio announcers, lots of fouling going on, Kobe and Marion still in with 7 minutes left and a 17 point laker lead.

Maybe the Sun's strategy is to give the Lakers some confidence and then crush that confidence in game 1 of their series. This would pretty much destroy the Lakers confidence and make all Kings fans happy to see the Lakers looking like "WTF is going, we can't hang with them" on the court. Especially Kobe.

Not exactly true. The entire Suns team was collapsing in on Kobe any time he got near the paint, but other than that it wasn't that physical. I think the ESPN crew may have been trying to find something to talk about...

We blew 17 pt lead and the 7th spot 3 days ago. We sure have nothing to complain about. We also lost at home to Knicks, Blazers, etc. It is what it is

true, but i don't think the stats tell the whole story. maybe a different story if we were 50-50 against them, and the lakers were, say, 70-30.

2-2 and 3-1 is a too small a sample size. just from watching the way the kings run versus the lakers run, i still think they are a better match up for the suns.

Looking not really relevant, but you're assuming ANY team can outrun the Suns. They cannot. We are potential Suns cryptonite precisely because of the overpowering post players we have that can just pummel them down low in the halfcourt.

Suns had won 8 in a row vs. Lakers. That's pretty decisive when you are talking about the lakers uddenly having to be able to beat them 4 of 7.

not saying lakers are gonna get through them, which at the end of the day is really what matters.:)

I still think there is a reasonably good chance of us getting 7th. All we have to do is not let Ray Allen hang 50 on us and the Hornets have to beat the Lakers. The Hornets could beat the Lakers in hope of finishing the season on a positive note and the Lakers could rest some players to get ready for the playoffs.

Lakers will win even if they have to clone Bavetta twice (what a horrible thought)
