What's the best thing about Boston?

I'm still in disbelief that the Kings dominated Boston, with their entire roster healthy and making them look like a pretty average team. They had no answer throughout the game. I was laughing (insert Monk smile) when Tatum shook his head in disgust a few times.
The game wasn't a fluke, a luck even with Fox missing., just an utter dominance.

Christie’s Kings are frustrating the hell out of the other teams with their tenacity and I’m here for it.

Well once you get past those 3 he used. Production falls off. Len, crowder, McLaughlin, Colby, then some 2-ways. I mean that is slim Pickens. Worst part is we are trying to trade 2 of the 3 that played for 1 player.
Funny I just realized 2 of the guys you mentioned are more guards:

Considering Carter played back-up point and is another great on ball defender. I think we have the following in their best position:

Point: Fox, Monk, Carter, McLaughlin
2 Guard: Ellis, Huerter, Jones
3: Murray, Crowder
4: Lyles
5: Sabonis, Len

I didn’t place DeRozan because I wasn’t sure to put him at 2 or 3. But damn is this team unbalanced. The fact we could lose Fox and are arguably playing better is just further testament to the unbalanced nature of this team.

Just to add Deuce, said we’re top five in offense and defense since Christie took over that’s championship basketball half those games without fox whose a very good defender
can be when he pays attention but both Carter and Ellis put more focus and attention on defense than Fox. Fox going out has given more minutes to both those guys and we are better defensively as a result.

So one mistake=bad defender?

Did you watch the 4 games he played in the Christie era? He played incredible, on both ends. 3-1 record
no a bad net rating means an inconsistent defender. I’m not going to say Fox can’t play better defense because he can but 8 seasons with the Kings across multiple coaches is pretty telling.

here are the Kings defensive net ratings

Carter: 102.3
Ellis: 107.4
Murray: 109.4
Lyles: 109.7
Monk:110.1
Sabonis: 110.2
Huerter: 111.5
Fox: 111.8
DeRozan: 112.1

And to follow up your point here are the last 7 games:
Lyles: 99.7
Carter: 102.3
Ellis: 103.3
Murray: 105.9
Monk: 106.7
Sabonis: 107.6
DeRozan: 107.8
Huerter: 111.2
Fox: 111.9

Fox’s 36 minutes comes at the expense of minutes for Carter and Ellis and makes us worse defensively. Even if you play them all at once you are forcing Ellis and Carter to step up a player in size and that still makes us worse defensively.

This team needs one less guard and one more rotation forward in the worst way.

I’m actually hoping Doug uses the bench more, especially when Fox gets back. Need to be playing 9 or 10 deep during the long regular season.

Can’t go all season playing too heavy of minutes for our starters. Need to conserve some minutes for a deep playoff run.
I think we will be alright. I never knew what to expect from MB. MB is a good assistant coach and that's it. Kings have loads of talent and a striving, good head coach loves to have such resources available. One game at the time till the real season (play-offs) will begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game was so fun I watched it again.

Look at this shooting to begin the tied 4th quarter:

Carter - two consecutive 3 point bombs to start the barrage. He's playing the Champions in Boston, the game is tied going into the 4th qtr and he's jacking it up like he's playing at the local YMCA. This kid has some balls.

Sabonis - he continues to make big 3 point shots at important times in the game. These 3 point shots are like 4 point shots because it opens up the entire floor for everyone else. Every time he makes these I think it's a Sabonis 4-point play.

Murray - 2 bombs. No hesitation anymore. He has his hands ready to catch and shoot and he *wants* the ball. The "smile" is back.

DDR - had 2 bombs in the 4th, which is not what you normally expect in the DDR game, but I'm not complaining.

The ONLY miss from the 3-point line in the entire 4th quarter was Carter's heat check. We'll forgive him this one time.;)

Sasha is one of the casualties of Mike Brown's horrific personnel management skills. This is one reason I'm not simply neutral on Brown. He screwed up a perfectly good situation with Sasha. Just completely fumbled that ball. Absolutely no reason for Brown's nonsense regarding Sasha.
Even as a "let's not be hasty with Brown" guy I hated his management of Sasha. Plus makes me wonder about some of the players from Y1 we could have kept instead of moving on from for nothing players like Duarte and McGee (McGee clearly a guy Brown alone responsible for).

yeah. Toronto would have been a good spot for him, if he wanted to test the NBA waters some more. He didn't
On the flip side he came to join a team he thought he could contribute towards contention, the Raptors are tied for 2nd most losses in the league.

Remember when we were pursuing him we all thought it would hinge on his team winning the EuroLeague championship and they fell short in the final in a one possession game. He comes to a young team that just finished 3rd in the West, gets frozen out of the lineup (apparently after being promised a role/chance by Brown and Monte) and then shipped to a team that just sold off its two best players the year before and is in a total rebuild while his old team desperately wants him back.

I criticized him for quitting but between EuroLeague and the Greek League Olympiacos is 26-7 while the Raptors are 8-30 and first and second with only a game separating them from their rivals in each. With the benefit of hindsight his decision to return back is a fairly easy call.

There's a reason a lot of people think we're not even serious about such a move. I wouldn't be surprised if we moved on after draft night.

With Fox back we're at 9 players in the rotation, I'd like to see Jones get some more run in games that aren't close and Len will play every other game so that'd be 10-11 players.

If we can move Kev for a guy that will play every night without being shoe-horned in great but otherwise I'm all for just letting Christie cook, both Kevin and Keegan are rebounding offensively now that Brown has gone.

I mean it’s similar to Boston’s coach. He got it last minute when Udoka got suspended. Hopefully Doug’s arc will be similar
Funny thing about Maz is the Boston media sorta hates him. Even with a championship. If people want to be worked up about Brown not getting an Outlook appointment for an extra 30 minutes at his next one-on-one so we could fire him "correctly" after we win a chip I will take that trade seven days a week and twice on Sundays.
