I was going to post this during the game, but Sabonis lately does not go out to meet players driving into the paint. He actually backs up at times. That gives them an easy floater. I do not know if it is because he is hampered by injuries or if because he is afraid of foul trouble, but he has to be more assertive and guard the paint. The way the defense is designed, there is no one else to do the job.
Probably wants to stay out of foul trouble.

The offense from Keon is a bonus hit when defense is his calling card and he’s not getting it done at that end, it doesn’t really matter how many points he scores.

This is the next phase for Keon. He's found a little niche as someone who can strip the ball and contest from behind, but on pick and roll he's not versatile enough to consistently switch and teams are no doubt targeting him now. At his age, with his frame, there likely won't be any major strength/size gains so he'll have to adapt. He is starting to flop which I think is a good idea long term. Whereas someone like Carter probably doesn't want to be flopping like he is because he really doesn't need to, but he'll figure that out and maybe when Carter starts getting respect he'll get more of those calls. The difference with Keon and Carter is simple, Carter pays the toll on those illegal screens. He smashes into them, whereas Keon isn't and with his frame nor should he to be honest. If Keon can learn to sell that contact in his own way it'll likely correct some of the issues he's facing at the moment. The switches however are what they are. I figured it could be an issue for Keon when players started to push him out of their way with the off hand. Kyrie did that repeatedly and he's not exactly powerlifter by any stretch. In time if Keon and Carter get legit minutes together it'll be hell in almost every way for opposing teams. Carter stopping the body, Keon taking the ball. There might not be a more complete guard duo stylistically than those two defensively. At least in theory.

Great results Nuggets/Clippers win means Memphis is going to be 8th most likely there is hope
Yea the funny thing about this crazy season is that we may have a greater chance at reaching the post season this year. Sucks that the Thunder are a juggernaut now but it would be cool to get in just so the guys we do keep, will at least not have such a sour taste in their mouths.

Btw, i do think a 100 percent healthy Sabonis would have grabbed at least one of those big rebounds last night. He’s not fully himself yet

I know no other player except LaVine, who puts so much G-force in his passing ball. Accurate or not the receiver usually gets off guard, hence the turnovers and choppy plays.
