clearly Carter is the better player as he should be drafted 12th versus 24th ( I might be off on the slots).

it seems only in Monte’s head (and maybe this board) can you trade 6’3” skilled for 6’8” equally skilled. I’m not even sure we could get Smith from Houston for Fox. Which is why we are 3 years past the horrific Davion pick and we are still light in the Front Court.
Holy **** dude. We TRADED SMALL FOR BIG WHEN WE TRADED HALI FOR DOMAS.

Congrats, you were right that Davion was a bad pick. You don't get to use that to discredit every move Monte has made. Presti had made horrendous trades and picks too. But he's right more often than not. So is Monte

It's possible that this is also just a relentless preoccupation for you, and that it's hardly some insurmountable challenge. The Kings currently have the 8th best offensive rating, 13th best defensive rating, and 9th best net rating in spite of their frontcourt deficiencies. The advanced metrics suggest they're a team that should be 4-5 games over .500, which would be good enough for 6th in a very difficult Western Conference.

Rosters across the NBA are often suboptimal in their balance, even amongst winning teams, and especially under the new and highly restrictive CBA. Hell, even the 31-6 Thunder lack wing talent! But not every GM is an idiot just because they can't overcome league-wide scarcity at a particular position of need. Jesus...
