Well, I didn't know Nuggs were only dressing nine guys, and looks like they'll be losing to the Jazz. Hornets beat Sonics.

*shrugs* Be fun to see how they do the rest of their schedules.
One other game to watch is the Clippers -- if they win, that ends any chance at the #6.

Haven't really looked at that, but, I bet the Clips win.

Nuggs have K-Mart/Boykins/Camby/Najera out - 4 of their main guys and energy guys. Other than Camby, the other 3 have been out regularly, so should be that way vs. us. Wonder if Camby will be out then also.

so is it better for the Jazz or hornets to win on friday? DOes it really matter? I am thinking that it is better for the Jaz to win, eventhough they are closer. Don't we own the tie breaker with Utah? If not, maybe it is better for New Orleans to win.

Ok, think this is right:

Jazz and Hornets are in the same boat. Hornets have 40 losses, Jazz have only 39, but the Jazz lose the tiebreaker against us.

We have 38 losses.

So, with three games to go:

If Kings go 3-0. We are in the playoffs.
If Kings go 2-1 (39 losses). We are in playoffs (Hornets have 40 losses, Utah has 39 but loses tie breaker).

So, the ONLY way either team can catch us is if we go 1-2 or 0-3.

If we go 1-2 (40 losses) then Utah MUST win out, because they need to finish a game ahead of us to make the playoffs because they lose the tiebreaker. And New Orleans MUST win out, because they already have 40 losses and anymore puts them at 41. So if we go 1-2, in order to catch us EITHER New Orleans or Utah must go undefeated to catch us.

If we go 0-3, both teams can afford one loss (and since we are going 0-3 in that scenario, then New Orleans obviously would be getting at least one win against us).

So I think ANY win by us from here on out means that ANY loss by either Utah or New orleans eliminates them. Obviously if we beat New Orleans on Sunday, that is both a win for us and a loss for them and they are gone. If we win against Denver, than the loser of Utah/New Orleans is finished.

We do own the tiebreaker vs. Jazz (season series), and when we likely beat the Hornets (making the season series tied), we own the conf. record tie-breaker.

Any combo of 3 games, right? They lose 1, we win 2 etc?

Still a scary place to be right now. i would MUCH rather already have that x next to our name, as would we all!!

Tonight:

Jazz at Hornets - Go Jazz.

Blazers at Lakers - Go Blazers!
I actually want the hornets to win...well...cuz jazz are closest to us. Jazz have a harder schedule though. Hmm...but the hornets have to play us and LAL before the season is over....gah nm i guess i dont care who wins that one, either way its a plus for the kings

I am actually really nervous about the Jazz. I think they have the ability of catching and surpassing us. They are only 1 game behind. This is not good for us. The Kings should be concerned. I don't even want to think what would happen if we lost at Denver. And if we lost to New Orleans....

I can't see us losing both games... and about the Jazz, my thoughts on them from another thread:

Jazz play at Mavs sunday, and I don't see them letting off on the regular season yet. Avery's not happy about the last two games, and are returning home to Dallas against a lesser, but hungry opponent. Plus the Mavs do indeed want that #1 spot, and want to strong into the playoffs, #1 spot or not. Similar situation for when the Jazz play at Spurs the next night. Only they haven't lost two in a row, but did get handled pretty well by a hot, young Magic team in San Antonio, and will want to bounce back from that loss going into the playoffs.

Plus we own the tiebreaker with Utah, and when we likely beat the Hornets, we'll own the tiebreaker there also if neened.

I really don't see Sac going 1-3 or 0-3 in the last three, 2-1 for sure though.

i think they can go 3-0 with the only game im iffy aout is the game at denver but they are short handed at the moment with a few injuries... we should beat the hornets and sonics at arco...

btw.... I HATE THE JAZZ!!!!!!!

So the Kings are a game behind the Lakers and a game and a half up on the Jazz.... So if the Kings win (NO) tomorrow and the Lakers lose (Phx), then they're 7th again??

Well, I guess as long as they win-period- right?

Tonight:

Suns at Lakers - hopefully the suns offense can run wild without much or any of Nash/Bell.

Jazz at Mavs - Mavs won't be letting off on the reg. season yet, nor the #1 spot, and are at home = win.
