Playoff Update (Merged)

clinch playoff berth

i know we're probably only down to 5 more games, but if we win 1 more game dont we eliminate the jazz and hornets from playoff contention?

Well we have 4 games left, we are 3 ahead of Utah and NOK... So technically we need 1.

But NOK is not going to win out and neither is Utah. Utah has Dallas and the Spurs left. NOK has 5 games with one being against us.

I think its safe to say we are pretty much locked into getting a spot unless we totally tank and the other teams don't lose 1 game.

I'm merging this into the playoff update thread since it pretty much keeps everyone up to date on a daily basis...

The Kings have FOUR games left and are currently 41-37.

N.O.- currently 37-39 6 games left
Utah- currently 37-39 " "

Kings have the tie breaker v. Utah and would have it against N.O. if they win the final meeting against N.O. So, if the Kings go 2-2 they would edge out Utah regardless what Utah does. Similarly, if they go 2-2 and one of those wins is against N.O. they would edge out N.O.

Houston is within 1 point now. A little under 6 minutes left.

EDIT - Utah appears to be choking in the 4th. They've only scored 9 points and the Rox just took the lead. Good for us.

Tonight:

Cavs at Hornets - Cavs and LeBron are on a sweet roll right now heading into the POs, and I expect them to continue it against a near-thin-ice Hornets team.

Rockets at Jazz - This should be the ugliest game of the year ;). Rockets on the 2nd of a back-to-back, hopefully Yao/Alston/Head have big games and win :p.
Well, got one of 'em.

Tonight:

Nuggs at Jazz - Nuggs are on a roll, and this time, the Nuggs will be too much Utah. 'Melo goes off.

Sonics at Hornets - Sonics are 6-4 (I think) in their last ten, and their new guys Wilcox and Watson along with Ray Allen of course, continue to play well. Sonics I think get this with their size and offense.

Well, I didn't know Nuggs were only dressing nine guys, and looks like they'll be losing to the Jazz. Hornets beat Sonics.

*shrugs* Be fun to see how Jazz/Hornets do the rest of their schedules.
