Peja's Aching Back

Peja's back is hurting. Might be on of the main reasons he hasn't been moving very well. I think they should shut him down if it's that bad. But that's a non--starter with Mo sidelined. Depth is going to really be a problem over the next few weeks with Webb hobbled. This stretch, which includes some killer competition, could be the most telling of the season.

Well, where DID you hear it? Sorry to doubt you, but we get a LOT of people who come here and with their very first post make a claim about some kind of insider knowledge.

If Pedja's back is really bad, they aren't going to play him. Contrary to what seems to be the opinion of some people, the Maloofs, Adelman, Pete Youngman, etc. care about these players - if not personally at least monetarily. They aren't going to exacerbate a condition on Pedja if he's really not well.

And Webber is "hobbled"? How very intriguing. From what we've all read and heard, he has a mild ankle roll. That's not exactly hobbling.
 
VF, in that article that posted about Adeleman being alarmed about selfish play it mentions that Peja has a sore back...it said that he, chris, mike and mo sat out of practice

I wasn't referring to Pedja having a sore back, which is pretty well known. I was referring to the use of "a lot worse than we've heard."
 
I'm not saying he's got a slipped disc, but he's in a good deal of pain. I'm not going to reveal my source on a public board because then the source will dry up. Send me a private message and I'll tell you the person's job, but not a name.

Why not just post the person's job, since whoever you tell will post it for the rest of us and we'll know it was from you anyway. ;)

If this person you are talking about is telling deep dark secrets to the public he deserved to be revealed on a public board and fired. With that said, I think you are full of it.

You come in here with unverified claims that go against common sense and expect them to be taken seriously. That is hard to do.

That's fair enough. I'm sorry if I came across too strongly and, in turn, inadvertently encouraged some of the others to do the same.

We are a friendly board. We've had a few people recently who signed up pretending to be Kings fans, and ended up being nothing but trolls who wanted to see how much trouble they could stir up.

I owe you an apology for over-reacting.

So, I'm going to rewind and say...

WELCOME TO KINGSFANS!!! We're always glad to welcome another Kings fans to the board.

Hopefully, Pedja's condition will not be so severe that he ends up having to sit out. You're right...with Mo on the injured list, we can't afford the big gaping hole that would be created if Pedja had to miss games.

To be honest I hope Peja's back IS giving him trouble, because that's a lot more likely to heal than some of the other speculated issues (i.e. mental). If that can explain his current subpar performance, I'll breathe a sigh of relief.

I don't think it's a lot worse tham we've heard... We've "Heard" it's bothering him, I just think people have been disregarding it too much (calling it lack of effort, etc.). Anyone whose had a back injury knows that it's tough to move right, even if it's only slightly in pain. I think what AdelmansBrain(lol good name) is trying to say is maybe we should cut him some slack... and maybe, just maybe, he's playing hurt when he shouldn't. Maybe he's tougher than we give him credit for... but then again maybe Adelmansbrain just making it all up and Pejas mailing it in.

I just hope this doesn't become an excuse for poor play by Peja or the team. If his back was in that much pain he wouldn't be playing.

Hardly. Peja hasn't been the same since Day 1 of the season. In fact if anything his effort has picked up marginally as the season has wound on. This back injury is recent. It also hasn't made much difference unless it be in the 6 pt effort a few nights ago.

I could be wrong (and you're almost always right Brick) but I thought I heard rumors about the back quite early on. Maybe he's getting better? My only beef with Peja is the rebounding, and his back could definately be responsible for that. I knew his offensive numbers would be down with Webber back in the lineup, thats just natural. Pejas offense thrives on the whole teams precision/exicution and in that 6 point game there wasn't any at all. I agree we need more from him, but I've seen glimpses this year, some jab steps and drives down the lane... stuff I've never seen(as often) from him. I just want to see more of "that" Peja...

What I've heard:

He went to go see a specialist about two weeks ago and yesterday had an MRI. Nothing seriously wrong I suppose or we would have heard about it. Just needs some rest, maybe?

For the record, he ended up being someone who has been banned from here several times. I hate when I apologize and it ends up I was right to begin with.

I swear, though, all that stuff wasn't mine. My friend just gave me a big box of stuff to hold on to, and when I didn't hear from her again, I just through it away.

I don't even know what was on those videos!
