[Game] Kings vs. Hornets 1/29/11 Game Thread.

Very nice first half. Let's hope we can keep this up in the second, because both times from what I remember...we were up on the Hornets by 10+ or something like that and both times they came back and won the game. So, we will have to beware of the Chris Paul attack , he will be more assertive second half. Also, I'm sure we will see Dalembert starting with Cousins in the second half just like last night since JT can't go.

Don't know why it takes the coaching staff so long to figure out something we all know... KEEP PLAYING COUSINS!

Cousin is already a top 5 center in this league, agreed?

I was trying to come up with a list of centers that are altogether better than DeMarcus thus far in the season and honestly struggled to think of anyone other than Pau (who looked terrible last night for whatever reason), Dwight Howard, and Amare (Who is really a PF dressed as a center in D'Antoni's midget ball system). Of course, all of them pale in comparison to the best center in the league bar none, Darko.

The funny part is that Cousins isn't really a center.

???

Since when has a guy who is seven feet tall, who calls himself a center, who starts at center, and is the size of a baby orca not a center?

Are we seriously trying to start another "Tyreke is not a PG" debate?

A lot of people forget about Andrew Bogut

Honestly I think DeMarcus is about on par with him right now (of course, I'm not going to claim that I've seen Milwaukee games that often and Bogut is still seemingly semi-diminished since his elbow imploded last season)

Cousins I think IS the best SKILLED bigman (CENTER) right now, he has the passing, footwork and jumpshot however if were talking about 4s and 5s no one can beat Mr. Fundamentals. Tim Duncan.

In all honesty, that's probably next year. The year after that, 'good all of the time'.

Yep, but we seem to be cruising right along on the rebuilding curve. We've seen it with OKC, and with Portland before them. First the team reloads with youth (check), said team still sucks for a year or two (check and check), Youthful team starts getting a few surprise wins over playoff teams (We're starting to see this), Then finally the youthful team makes the jump into the playoffs (might still be two years away, but I think we're gonna be in the convo as an up and comer next season).

Again, for most of the season Demarcus has taken himself out of the games with foul trouble -- he leads the entire league. But one of the facets of his improvementn has been his ability to avoid those cheapies and now he's abel to fully display the dominance.

I find it semi-strange how we suddenly seem to be following the Thunder path of development.

That's the way it was always supposed to be. I think we all thought that Cousins was going to step up instantly, and it has taken him a few months. I think none of us exected Tyreke to be hampered by plantar fasciitis. So we started much slower than hoped. But things are looking more like we expected now.

Yes, very good. Cousins plays at 6'11", not seven foot. Maybe you'd like to post his weight and standing reach? Cousins is a full-sized center. He is not the largest center in the league, but he is not undersized.

As for the bio, whatever. If the Kings list him as C in every starting lineup, who cares what he wrote in a bio who knows when?

I have always loved DMC's game. right now his only flaw is his defense isnt on par with the best YET and really needs to finish stronger at the rim, missed layups that could be and should be easy dunks.
