[Game] Kings vs. Hornets 1/29/11 Game Thread.

Two games in a row Cousins has an A game! That change he took on Thornton then the beastly offensive rebound the next trip down was instrumental to our win.

Two games in a row our twin towers get it done. Tyreke had himself a very nice game in limited minutes due to fould trouble. These 2 young studs will be beasts for years to come.

I am really liking the Cousins-Dalembert pairing on the court. They create so many problems for the opposition on both ends of the floor. With JT injured (and possibly missing a few games) I am hoping to see a lot more of Cousins and Dalembert on the floor at the same time.

This team is starting to believe and our rookie is leading the way for us at the moment. Teams just don't know how to guard him at the moment.

I think the only thing we have to be concerned about is that we have no backup center with Thompson out. So there's always the danger of getting both of them in foul trouble. Other than that, what the hell. We were losing before and now were winning. Something must be working right.

On the plus side, there is an increased chance (albeit a slight one) of seeing Whiteside in a game.

I kind of worry about that two, except that DMC basically is a Center. It'll be interesting to see what happens now that are 96 minutes to spread out between just Landry, Cousins and Dalembert (and a few to jackson each game I would imagine as the 4th big man).

Dalembert.....remind me how the hell we fleeced Philly into taking a bad contract (Noc) and a passive big man in exchange for this guy?

We should have won the Warrior game as well.

We've been in so many games this past month. It's a blessing and a curse - even if we win half of our remaining games (going 18-18) we'll still end up with 30 wins - which will give us a top 7 or 8 pick. And I doubt we finish 18-18 with the brutal schedule we have left.

Hey, we just beat two of the best teams in the West in back to back games. If this is indeed a turning point (someone "flipped the switch" for the team) and we can keep playing this way, why not shoot for a 30-win season? With a high lottery pick and tons of caproom, we'd be looking good going into next year with some momentum and cohesion.

Honestly, I'd love to get to 30 wins, but you have to look at the remaining 36 games.

21 Road, 16 home

That alone means probably more losses than wins.

The next 19 games are particularly brutal. 16 of the games are against probable playoff teams with the other three being @ Phoenix, @ Charlotte, and the Clippers at home.

At this point I'm just facing reality. Had the team started this well, we'd be well over .500 right now with the cupcake schedule the league put together for us in November. Even with dramatically improved play, I realistically can't see us ending with more then 25 wins. Again, not necessarily a bad thing considering we started so awfully. It'll give us one more high draft pick to build with and we'll have a ton of space as well.

I don't mean to cause a downer. The team looks great. I'm so impressed by them.

What? DMC is not "basically a Center", he is totally a center. He is a center so much so that he even makes Dally a PF next to him, which has actually turned out verry well. Dally at PF is so great because there are so many good offensive PFs and Dally has been able to guard nearly all of them very well.

Up until tonight, I would say that our team has actually played better on the road.

after beating the Lakers, i was thinking Kings beat a very good team and most likely get beaten by a crappy team the next game. when i saw Hornets were next, i got really excited because Kings may have a chance to beat 2 power houses in a row. and we did!! woo hoo!! Boston is next!! Kings have a 12 game gauntlet! against boston, spurs, thunder, miami coming up..bring them on! 2 down 10 more to go!
