The Kings are just getting beat in almost every conceivable situation. Many of our players are just missing that "it" factor, whether it's in their heads or in their bodies. The 50-50 balls almost always go the other teams way. They don't box out, allowing the opposing center to back tap offensive rebounds back to his guys. When we back tap offensive rebounds, it goes to their guys because our guys are out of position and already in the back court.
Bogie gets Adams off his feet and just has to jump into him to get an easy 2 free throws, instead he avoids him and misses. None of our players other than Fox and Barnes make any attempt to get to the line. In fact they avoid it like it's the plague. They just don't have that high IQ where they can take advantage of defenders being out of position. All they're thinking about is getting the most wide open shot possible in every scenario and many times, that's not the smartest way to play basketball. It's why teams double us up on free throws almost nightly.
Many of their problems became when Justin James checked into the game. First thing he does is fight hard for a 50-50 ball and he gets it. Then on a couple of possessions he skies high for rebounds and rebounds them over the top of the guy who is in better position. He just fights harder than the majority of players on this team. It just sucks that our best players don't always play like that and if they do, it's only in spurts.
A full rebuild is obviously needed here from the players on up to the GM.
