I can forgive some of the assist problems, since the team totally did not expect to be without Bibby and they simply haven't been together long enough to step up in his absence and pass successfully to each other.
I cannot, however, forgive some of the rampant stupidness on the court. And I strongly disagree with Jerry Reynolds, who apparently saw a different Francisco Garcia than I did. I saw someone who could have been very effective, had he not continually lost focus. He would do something spectacular on one end of the court and then cancel it out with something incredibly dumb on the other end. That's not what this team needs or can deal with, regardless of what the esteemed Mr. Reynolds seems to think.

The assist problems have basically been here all preseason. Now, I am sure it was worse with Bibby out but we aren't really missing a lot of passing with Mike out.

Nice to see Martin with something other than points, even with the bad shooting night he had over 20.
Liked seeing Watkins do his thing, did some nice things.
We severly out rebounded them and we still lose, too much 1 on 1 on offense and we didn't play very well on defense...lot of stuff inside.
Pretty sloppy game all around actually.

Well, our assists are usually really bad anyway, and losing Mike didn't make it much worse, but the guys that usually step up to make up for his deficiencies are Ron and Brad. With neither of them to take over, we had nothing better than Kevin Martin playing PG (Douby and Greene combined for 0 assists and 3 TOs in 29 minutes). Shakur chipped in with his very limited minutes, but if Petrie's shopping for a cheap vet PG, as reported, then Shakur may well be cut in the next day or two anyway.

Quincy Douby is NOT a PG. If he's going to be playing the PG, he needs to dish out ALOT more than he has. He played 22 minutes and had ZERO assists. Please Reggie, find someone else to be your PG.

I honestly think you need to give him a bit more time before writing him off. If I recall, you weren't happy with the Salmons acquisition, either.

Seeing how Boston thrashed Cleveland tonight, with KG getting a triple double, I didn't suppose you'd say we'd end up screwed like the Celtics.

You are basing this on today's game right? Because well obviously Brad suited up for was it 48 minutes? And to think he did NOTHING to stop Bynum. Tsk what a softy indeed.
You're mad that Miller didn't play in a PRESEASON game because he has back spasms? You don't want to mess around with back problems man, if you do that stuff could become chronic. And you know what bothers me? You're saying this when he's been our best post defender and shotblocker this preseason. I'm not saying he's awesome or the next coming of Ben Wallace or anything, I'm just saying that getting mad at him for not playing in a preseason game is rediculous.
Same thing with KMart. You're acting like this is as good as he'll ever be and he'll never be a #1 guy. Guess what, he's never been in this role against this type of competition before. The guy didn't even have a point guard tonight and his only good teammates were Salmons and Watkins. He had to be the primary ball handler, he went up against double and tripple teams all night long, and he had to help rebound because Reef and Mikki don't do it. It's just a preseason game, Kevin's been good so far in the preseason and he's just been a bit injured. Now he's in a role that he'll need time to adjust to. He's only in his 4th year, 3rd year of actual playing time. He's only 24. He was without his 3 best teammates and he had nobody that could get him could shots like how Brad finds him cutting to the basket, or Bibby throws alley oops, or Artest kicks the ball out to him from the post. He didn't even have a Brevin Knight level PG and it showed. Give him some time to adjust to this role and stuff before you make some sort of judgement on him man.

I in turn don't think it was as bad as you portray it. But then you have to ask yourself are you ready to watch these guys grow or do you want a 32 year old that is in control or wait for Garcia to come around. Remember the bonehead plays Martin made his 2nd year and he started 41 games that year. Garcia has only started about 15 or so coming into his 3rd season. Garcia is going to impress you one day VF. Mark my words.

Hey, its one game dude. And its an exhibition game. I watched Timmy Hardaway go 1 for 22 one night. I suspose he would have sucked by your standards too. I, for one, was happy to see K-Mart be as agressive as he was.
No, what's pathetic is the play on names. We have a long-standing tradition around here of not resorting to the "K-Whine" type of silliness. Please honor that tradition. Thanks ever so....
