Kings at impact in Competitive Training

Ok, I haven't seen this posted yet today Isaiah Thomas and JJ Hickson will rep our Kings the games are supposed to be streamed I will post link when I find it. I wish Jimmer and Honeycutt would have played in these games with them but either way nice to see these two teammates get acclimated early.

I saw this too. Isiah and JJ are supposed to be on the same team, just forgot what group they are in. I was hoping to see one of Tyreke, DeMarcus, Marcus play in this too. But it is what it is. At least Jimmer will be playing at the end of this month in a two day exhibition game so I guess I can let him slide for not competing in this one even though he needs all the reps against NBA talent as possible. I hope streams will be available somewhere because I don't know where to look, I might check RealGM out.

Isaiah Thomas had 29pts 7 asts and shot 6-6 from three and Hickson had 15pts and 10rebs. @Sam_Amick said on twitter the games are not streaming yet....

2nd game Hickson had 32pts 10 Rebs and Thomas had 26pts 10rebs 9 asts

6:14 left in 3rd, Blues pulling away 82-68.

total crowd about 50 folks. *more media I think than paying fans. *Games are $20 a day, $50 for 3 days or $150 for every game every day. *Throw in a 100 bucks more and sit in VIP section down with us media types. *Not all that wonderful as most of us as as casual if not more so, than fans.

This is just that, a "Competitive Practice Session" and nothing more. *Conditioning drills with some shooting the round ball. *Both these teams not in shape. *Last fast break only 3 of 10 players even went past half court. *Happened couple of times. *Shooting drills, no D at all now at end of 3rd. *Blues up 96-84.

Hope to get interview with Isaiah after game as he is leaving Las Vegas after the game according to his agent. *Maybe I'll find out where to.

NOTE: look for my interview with Isaiah in KINGS RAP

WHY NOT COME DOWN TO LAS VEGAS, STAY CHEAP AND GET A BASKETBALL FIX?

I'm staying for $49 a nite, across the street from the Fashion Outlet Mall and 1.3 miles from Impact Arena. Within 15 min walk are some 9 restaurants and Las Vegas BLvd is the west side of the model, Crestwood Suites. Small pool, easy access, friendly, clean, convenient if you are a ball fan. Think there is a bus up Las Vegas Blvd to the strip.

Impact Basketball runs thru 22nd with a playoff and championship game on 23rd.. You can get the schedule and all info online at: http://www.impactbball.com/competitive-league/index.html

The arena is on Sunset Rd that runs along the south edge of the airport and block and a half east of Las Vegas Blvd.

If the stars had aligned properly I would be there with Cruzdude. Unfortunately I have a house full of company, so I'm stuck in Ensenada. I know they emphassied that the games would be like real NBA games with defense and such, but it sounds more like pickup games. Still, its a chance to get a basketball fix of some sort. Cruzdude is right about the buses. You can buy a day pass and go just about anywhere you want. They run regularly, and the bus schedules are posted at the bus stops along with which bus runs where.

I discovered the buses last year when there was some confusion between myself and Uncia03, who was my ride to the arena. I foolishly decided to walk to the arena. I seriously advise walking to the arena from the strip when its a 110 degrees outside. After two blocks my life started passing before my eyes, and I took refuge at a bus stop. Alas, I'm here to tell the tale.

Summer league is a kick, and as Cruzdude said, rooms are cheap. There are a million resturants from which to decide. If you can drive, I'd get a group together and drive down next summer. You get to rub elbows with the players and their parents on occasion, as well as the Maloofs, who Cruzdude and I had conversations with. It would be great to have more Kings fans there.

JJ finally arrives at beginning of 4th quarter, now playing with the Red team vs. John Wall and the Whites. JJ easily spotted with his outrageous dark aqua blue shoes. Guarding JaVale McGee on defense has stopped JaVale twice from getting off a shot. Just grabbed rebound with outstretched right arm and finishes with tomahawk jam. Sweet!!! off to interview then heading home.
