He was used as faceup PF in Baylor and could not beat anyone off the dribble. And college PFs are usually average to below average SFs in the NBA. PJIII's better defender on the perimeter because he's atrocious inside and only bad outside. Yeah, he's an SF, allright.Perry Jones...
Just want to chime in on him, in case anyone missed it, he is no longer a power forward. He is a small forward now, plain and simple, at least according to him. He was asked what kind of defender is he? Replied: I'm a better defender on the perimeter. Later, asked his opinion on being compared to Paul George; replied: I do compare favorably to him. Bottom line is that he sees himself on the wing, he's more comfortable on the wing (as noted many times in college), he doesn't like the physicality that comes with playing in the post.

Now, it's possible that PJ3 becomes an awesome SF. Parts of me wonder if the Warriors is eyeing Jones as their future SF. But if you're looking for a physical shot-blocking big man, look elsewhere.

It's weird isn't it? Their focus seemed to be on big guys with Drummond, Zeller, Henson, and Sacre (maybe I forgot someone) and then I need some help in coming up with a name of a person who might be picked in the top 15. As I've said before, the only player that absolutely needed a workout was Drummond. The other players thought to be available in the top 5 either are not high priority (Beal) or if you read what other teams have said or gone over your tapes and talked with their coaches, it is pretty clear who they are. I HAVE noticed that a few KF favorites weren't brought in and what I mean is a few SFs who people have been high on and the Jones boys.
They seem to be working out people for their 2nd round pick and that's a necessity because there usually isn't a plethora of info on these folks. With your second round pick you at least have to get a guy whose personality is not a problem.
I do not think they are preparing for a trade down as personally I think that is a stupid move. There's great talent to be had at #5 and nothing wins better than talent. Well, except a good coach and owners. (cough) There is also the possibility of a trade and perhaps that's what is going on. The problem with the theory that they have a trade in mind is that our trade partner doesn't really know who he's going to get.
I suspect plan A is to use the trade to get a real, live, breathing human being or plan B, a trade
There's persisting rumors about Bobcats-Cavs trade to allegedly get Beal to pair with Irving and it's not clear what Washington reaction to that would be. It adds even more uncertainty to already muddied draft projections.

Moe Harkless is coming in for a workout according to Amick, apparently we're "seriously interested" in him.
Personally I don't think there's anything weird about our pre-draft workouts. Basically, on draft night, we have 2 options:
1) Keep our pick
2) Trade down
3) Trade the pick
If we keep our pick, we know there are 5 top guys, Davis, MKG, Robinson, Beal and Barnes. I think Petrie has already decided to take whoever is left on the board, and we could be very happy with that. I'm also pretty sure they have scouted those guys all season long, they know their strengths and weaknesses, so basically there's no need for a workout. It's like Anthony Davis: I don't think he had a workout in NO, because they already know he's their pick. Same thing here, we don't know who will be our guy, but we know there will be one there. Then, there's one guy who could jump in the top 5, based on his potential, which is Drummond. So, we brought him in to get a closer look and talk to him. We will find on draft night if that workout was a positive one.
In the second scenario, we trade down. If we do that, grabbing a late lottery pick and a veteran player, we need to know who to draft there. And I believe that's why we had Lillard, T. Jones, Zeller, Henson and now Harkless working out in Sacramento. Petrie has to be prepared in any case, so he's doing the right moves so far. For example, if we could land Iguodala and Phila's pick for the 5th and Salmons, we could grab Hanson with the pick and we'd be very happy with that.
Let's see, it's going to be a fun draft with a lot of options out there. I can't wait to see what happens.

I really really like Moe Harkless.
I mean, with his draft position it'll be wise to trade down - but I would absolutely be happy if we draft him. I've been saying people are sleeping on him during the season and before the draft.
I rate him higher then Barnes, for example.
Which would make perfect sense for us after we trade the #5 for Dalembert and the #14.
As an aside, I know about Moe's Gerald Wallace light offensive game, but how's his defense?
FYI Moultrie went down early in today's Kings workout with his ankle injury. No word on the severity.
Kings like Moe Harkless, would be a target if they trade down. Same could be said of John Henson.
Appears unlikely Kings will have anymore pre-draft workouts so now it's on to rumors and Thursday.
You will most likely need ESPN America. I think they just haven't updated their schedule.Ok so i checked the ESPN.co.uk schedule here: http://tv.espn.co.uk/gb/espl/tv-schedule/#all...
What happens if MKG & Barnes are already selected? What are the odds for that to happen?
That means we draft Robinson right? If so, what do we do with the SF? We obviously don't want Salmons!
I'm not liking that they're liking Henson and Harkless. I know Baja likes Moultrie, but I just don't see the point, is he really all that different from Jason Thompson?
