I LOVED that movie

that was a great idea from royal diva to start the " i hated that movie" thread. it really got me thinking about the movies i LOVE, so i had to start this :D

- the LOTR movies: all of them. the extended edition movies are truly amazing. i was a big fan of the book, and peter jackson found a way to translate that magic onto the big screen. all the details, the costumes, the MUSIC ( i'm seriously in love with the sound tracks) these are my favorite movies of all time.

-gladator. i loved the story, the cast, the action, the soundtrack. russell crowe was amazing, so was joaquin phoneix. oh he was so evil!.

- love actually. now normally i'm no romantic comedy lover, but i just adore this movie. i love how it all comes together at the end.

i'm also a huge fan of the star wars saga, the harry potter movies, certian comic book movies etc. they just don't compare with these.

I think there is already a thread about this?? Or maybe that was just a more all-around discussion of movies.

And Brickie, if that is your favorite movie, then I bet you really hold a candle for 'Beaches'. ;)

Excellent Movie. Has everything in it. Love, War, Peace, Guys getting thrown into giant spikes.

I absolutely love all 'The Godfather' films and can watch them over and over.

I watched my new DVD edition of 'The Shining' last weekend. The best, scariest horror film ever made! Kubrick is an absolute genius. I also love his 'Clockwork Orange' (although it's hard to watch) and 'Dr. Strangelove'.

'Five Easy Pieces' classic character-study drama. Early Jack Nicholson. Timelessly great.

'Forrest Gump' another one I could watch over and over. Great storytelling and acting.

'Sunset Boulevard' might as continue with the classics. What a great satire on Hollywood and prima-donnas.

Anger managment
The day after tomorow
A Beautiful Mind
American pie 1,2,3
Enemy of the State
Milion dolar baby
...

This thread pops up about once a year under different titles. ;)

My indecisive *** is hereby banned from this thread.

Seriously.

My friends and I got into a discussion about favorite movies once, and I was calling people for days with, "I need to change my list because I just remembered..."

Shrek
Shrek 2
Spiderman 2
Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers
Johnny English
The Party

A lot of disney movies and will think of some later......

Gladiator, a bronx tale, braveheart, the sandlot, goodfellas, cinderella man, frequency, the rock(best action movie ever), con air, the GOONIES, the sixth sense, menace to society, boyz n' the hood, friday, above the rim, hook, lord of the rings especially the second one, star wars(all of them especially 4, 5, and 6), remember the titans, coach carter, the program, gladiator again( not a lot of people know about this one- its the one with cuba gooding jr and I can't remember the white guys name, but its a boxing movie), men of honor, training day(and pretty much all denzel washington movies)...... There's a ton more and I'm on a brain block so I'll post them later.....

Oh and one more thing, I think jarheads gonna be a real good movie.

I have a coworker who told me about this movie a year ago. He's read the book and, having heard his son's accounts from Iraq (Marine), he says it's a story that should make for a very promising movie because the book is an accurate portrayal of how Marines are. He says he can see it being the closest thing to Full Metal Jacket being that they got quirky Sam Mendes (American Beauty) to direct it. This is the first movie I'm looking forward to seeing in some time. Hopefully it lives up to the hype -- which few current films do.

I just watched "Crash" for the second time...

While it's not really a movie you can "love," I was very impressed with it and the message. It's a powerful film in a lot of ways, and my respect for Don Cheadle continues to grow.

My cousin Vinny
Toy Stories
A Bug's life
Se7en
Matrix
Lord of the rings
