How you shake up the team without trading anyone

Mike is tired. having to carry most of the offensive load. bibby played better defense when webber and doug was on the team. because they could easily run the offense. WE NEED A FREAKING BIG MAN. I CANT SAY IT ENOUGH. ITS A HEADLINE ON A KINGS POSTER. I DREAM ABOUT IT.

1.I STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF SWALLOWING BAKED CHICKEN AND SCREAM "THE KINGS NEED A BIG MAN".
2.I GO INTO WORK, SIT DOWN AT THE COMPUTER, GET ON KINGS.COM AND SEE THE BOX SCORE FROM LAST NIGHTS BLOWOUT AND SAY "THE KINGS NEED A BIG MAN"
3. I GO TO THE RECREATION CENTER, PLAY 4 ON 4, GET BLOWN OUT AND SAY "THE KINGS NEED A BIG MAN"
4. I GET IN THE SHOWER, AND YOU KNOW WHAT'S ON MY MIND? "THE KINGS NEED A BIG MAN"

I feel like this team needs a consistent rotation more than anything else. Bibby/Martin/Artest/Thomas/Miller. Time to gel, Shareef knowing that he's going his minutes so he doesn't jack up shots every time he touches the ball, everyone knowing their roles. Musselman is jerking people around enough as it is. I think this team would respond to some consistency.

That's what I was saying just last week. Keep the same line-up and rotation for awhile. Let them find some chemistry.

I guess I'm still just so DANG frustrated after last night, I'm ready to bench the lot of them.

Hart showed some talent at Charlotte. I think he got clobbered by being backup to Bibby last year under Adlemans short rotation. When Hart came out it always meant Bibby was gone and that means we sucked. The problem wasn't Hart so much as the massive dependence we have on Bibby's performance.

With KM's emergence we aren't so dependent on Bibby anymore so benching Bibby for Hart isn't as devastating.

Hart can still be a good PG without being as good as Bibby.

LOL! You'd think Petrie could hear you then.

How do you shake up the team?

Run an offense. Force them to play a slower style and get the ball in the paint with SAR/Artest. Force high percentage shots.

Bibby will come around. Martin isn't good unless getting the ball in the flow of the offense.

Artest/SAR can create down low and while it may not be exciting or pretty ... it's high percentage and can lead to other open looks by the team.

Our big problems are we are jacking up jumpers, which is traditionally a bad offensive plan. We give up long rebounds and we play terrible transition defense. Another terrible plan. Get it inside and we'll get better shots and we won't give up the long rebounds.

But, rest assured ... someone is probably going to get traded by the deadline.

you know what's the best type of deodorant? the kind you put on early in the morning and then go to the gym for a hard workout in the evening, and when you get in the shower that night, and you lift your arms to wash; you have to scrub harder than ever because that same deodorant is still clinged to your under pit. that's how tuff bibby used to be on nash. i remember in the good days when bibby used to lock him up like juve detention.

Are you saying you remember a time when Bibby stopped Nash?

Wow... I don't remember that. I remember Bibby and Bobby both running past Nash (because Nash is a horrible defender too), but I don't remember Bibby ever stopping Nash. I remember scores in the 120's.

I think I want what you are taking. My memories would be dreamy.

well he was able to contain him during a lot of crucial moments during that series. talking about the 2002 series we had with them.

I've never supported the idea of benching good players (and, this season's play aside, Mike is still a good player) just to send a message -- just don't think the potential message is worth the potential temper tantrum. If it can be done in a friendly, we're-concerned-about-your-wrist way, I think it would be a good idea.

Let's be realistic, though: We don't have a tremendous amount of talent waiting in the wings to back Mike up for an extended period of time. Bench Mike in favor of a lesser player, and the only message that may end up getting sent to Mike Bibby is that, even injured and in a funk, he's still a better option than Jason Hart.

Thank you.

You just don't bench a player of Bibby's caliber, plain and simple (unless the injury is really a problem). If he's slumping then you let him play himself out of it. We know he's not great defensively, but when he's on, he's a guy that will take over and win games for you. Furthermore, do we really want Price or Hart handling the ball and doing the playmaking right now? Perhaps Salmons could, but I'd prefer the ball in Mike's hands.

my theory for improving the team without a trade is by resting mike for a few weeks. get that wrist healthly!

i think we could make the playoffs with a healthy mike bibby without making a trade

Reading today's article in the bee, Mike was quoted saying his wrist injury is in the past. Therefore, I don't think he's wrist is hurting anymore.

Besides, if making the playoffs is a goal, then there's no way in this conference we can rest Bibby for several weeks and expect to make the playoffs. Honestly, I'd just like to see some effort on a consistent basis...the playoffs are out of the picture right now, IMO.

With this roster we can still make the playoffs...as a #8 seed. Which falls squarely into the "who the bleep cares?" category.

which will get a nice draft pick around 14-17. which will land use Quicy Douby or francisco garcia the 2nd hahaa

Guess lot of fans do (quite possibly the owners, and hopefully, the players). However, if there's any year where it might be good to miss the playoffs, this might be the one. Only thing is that if we miss, it shall be good to miss badly. That is, trade at least one of the main guys for cap and picks. Easier said than done though.
