Dog On It!
Looking at the upcoming road trip schedule, that would appear to be almost a lock at this point. With any luck at all, we will be in the top 2 by the end of the month.

Huge wosses for #1 and #2, and an epic lin for us!
This calls for a quick update.
1. OKC 9-34 .209
2./3. Was/LAC 9-32 .220
4. Sac 10-33 .233
5. Mem 11-30 .268
6. GSW 13-30 .302
With any luck at all, we will be in the top 2 by the end of the month.
Since I posted an optimistic forecast, I figured I'd better back it up with reasoning. So here are the schedules for the major draft-contending teams through the end of the month.
1. OKC: LAC, NJN, Memphis, Utah. Guess: between 1-3 and 2-2, assuming 1.5-2.5.
2. LAC: OKC, GSW, Portland, Chicago, Cleveland, Washington. Guess: between 0-6 and 3-3, assuming 1-5.
3. Was: LAL, Portland, Phoenix, Miami, Philly, LAC. Guess: 0-6 or 1-5, assuming 0.5-5.5.
4. Sac: Milwaukee, Toronto, Cleveland, Boston, Chicago. Guess: between 0-5 and 1-4, assuming 0.5-4.5.
If it comes out as it looks like it should, Washington will end the month as the #1 draft contender, with us right on their heels in the #2 spot.
A thought occurred to me when I was looking at who was drafting where, and how many picks each team had. Oklahoma has three picks in the first round. They're probably counting on getting the first pick in the draft. But what if we were to sneak in there. I would think that Griffin would be their first choice, especially since he's from Oklahoma.
Why not trade first round picks with them and also recieve one of their other first round picks. It would give us three first round picks and a high second. Hey, if they love Griffin enough, maybe we could get them to switch seconds with us as well.
That's the sort of thing that can be done, but probbaly only if one of their other picks is late. If we get lucky though definitely something I would have on my table. In a Shaq/LeBron year, getting the #1 pick saves your franchise all by itself. In a year like this, it might still, but you have to get a little clever to make the most of it.
Be a real test though -- as far as I know in his 13/14 years as Sacramento GM Geoff Petrie has NEVER traded for a draft pick on draft day and gives all the impression of hating the draft and just wanting to make his pick and go home. This is a year that calls for a different attitude. Have no idea if we'll see it or not.
ehh, THIS draft is too weak to stockpile draft picks, I rather have 1 overall then like 4 overall and two picks later ..
Why? In a weak draft, you have a significantly higher chance of landing a good/great player with multiple picks than just one... In fact, that's the case in all drafts! Actually refusing more draft picks during the rebuilding phase is nothing short of downright sillyness.
if we go point guard with our first pick, what do you guys think of drafting craig brackins out of Iowa state with our Houston pick?
Actually, just got done watching Iowa st vs Kansas this morning, and that same thought crossed my mind. Idk though, he seemed to disappear late in the game when it really mattered. However, late in the draft might not be that bad of an idea.
I believe his final numbers today were 38/13?? Something along those lines. ESPN said one of the best Big 12 games of the year.
But, he's 6'10. Not a pg.
He said if we go PG with our pick, what about this guy with Houston's pick.
I would've prefered to see OKC wose tonight instead of the Clippers. The Clippers suck, but only because of injuries. When any 2 of Camby, Kaman, Randolph and Davis come back they'll be a decent team again.

Anybody know when those guys are coming back? The sooner the better.
Golden State damn near escaped our near orbit tonight too. Be nice if thta was a sign of things to come with Ellis in the lineup.
