Heh.
If I'm not playing anymore, in my prime, what does that tell you about how good I was?

Zyphen said:I don't know how his whole hand would swell up from a sprain in his pinky. At most it would just be the pinky side of his hand. If his whole hand had swelled up, I would assume the MRI would pick up a strain, bruise, or sprain in the multiple finger/palm/wrist ligaments to cause that. The writer wasn't giving a medical opinion. The writer obviously regurgitated what Peja said, that he couldn't feel his whole hand because of a minor sprain in his pinky. I seriously doubt that. Peja just couldn't feel enough of his hand to feel comfortable shooting. I wouldn't want him to go out there if that's the case. But many other players had much worse happen to their hand and played fine. I've played a tennis match with my middle finger sprained and I could feel the swelling down to below my joint and a bit into the palm. Started off hurting like a ***** and couldn't feel it by end of the game. Guys like Sura and Iverson played with broken fingers, so they were even worse off.
I'm not saying Peja should have played. If that was all it took to shake him out of "game shape", then by all means, sit out. But he's still a wuss, which was the point.
"I couldn't feel my hand at that point," Stojakovic said of Fortson's slap, while holding a candy bar in his wrapped and swollen right hand.
"I wasn't able to shoot. I wasn't able to feel the ball."
OMG, a Peja's not soft story, from VF21? alright, wheres the real VF21?VF21 said:Some of you are being pretty unfair to Peja, so I can only assume it's because you don't know his history...
When Peja was still playing in Europe, he injured his leg. He was told it wasn't anything serious, he was pumped full of pain meds, and he continued to play - until his BROKEN leg was so bad it was pretty much hanging there like an overcooked noodle. It took a long time for him to recover; in fact, when he first came to the Kings, Geoff Petrie saw to it that Peja made all his doctor's appointments, rehab, etc.
Now, I can pretty much guess that Peja is adverse to taking pain meds and I don't blame him. He knows all too well what can happen and if he's a little gun shy, I'm not going to blame him at all.
Before you throw the wuss label around quite so freely, I'd like to see you play through what he did once upon a time...
VF21 said:I didn't say he's not soft.
What I said was it's not really fair for people to act as though he's a wuss for not taking the shots and "playing through the pain."
