Anyone else catch the tidbit (can't remember from where) where Stern and the rules competition committee are considering a rule change that streamlines more with FIBA as FiBA is trying to stremline more with NBA rules. FIBA is looking at moving the 3 point line back and making a square key from the trapezoidal. One rule the NBA is looking at forgoing is once the ball hits the rim from a shot that the defender would then be able to swat it away without it being goal tending.
IF that rule were to go into effect, I would think the value of a Hasheem Thabeet would SKY ROCKET, it'd HAVE to.
Let's assume that rule does in deed go into effect. Does that change your draft strategy this June with the #1 pick?
Personally for me, it does. As I'd think Thabeet becomes a much more viable option with an accentuated strength in the rules to fit his skillset.
