Who's our biggest most important player on the team?

Is it Ron, Mr. Clutch Mike Bibby or our best big man Brad Miller? every team has there important peice which one is ours????

i gotta say it's Mike Bibby, ( Sorry Ron ) but Bibby is valuable and he provides to score points when there is a important situation.

I'm thinking it just might be Pooh Jeter. I mean, the name itself is priceless.

Actually thats what i was thinking aswell but i'm not trading Mike Bibby unless we get a good all-star player.... and........ Brad Miller is the likely man out if we make a big trade there is a better chance hes shipped out then any other big peice on the team.

Ron Artest. He plays with a lot of energy on both ends. Shows up every night.

Bibby is the runner up behind Artest but I feel that he didn't give his best effort on defense some nights and his shot was a bit inconsistent during the first half of the season.

Brad... Didn't really stand out this year. Nothing new offensively except that he played less in the low post and extended his jump shot all the way to the 3pt line. Should be getting way more rebounds especially when your playing almost 40 minutes a game and your whole front court is soft. Same goes with shot blocking and playing defense.

Um...I would think that last season erased any doubt whatsoever -- clearly Ron Artest, and nobody is very close. With that playoff performance Bonzi might have had some minor claim, but that ship has sailed.

A distant #2 would be Bibby, in particular with his undistinguished cast of thousands backups. There is no #3.

Interesting is there by any chance Pooh Jeter and Pooh Richardson are related?
Nah, I dont think so...his dad and grandfather both had the same name, Eugene. I checked the Portland Pilots media guide from last season, and it just said it was a nickname. I think it might have mentioned it if the Original Pooh was his uncle or something.:D

It's Bibby, he's been here the longest and he's the highest paid, and if the game is on the line I want the ball in his hands. Last year I was dissapointed in his energy level but I expect him to bring it this season.

by missing defensive asignments over and over again

^^ okay Piksi, we know all about the weaker aspects of Mike's game.

I would say that Ron is our most important player - you only have to reflect on how the team played with him in the side compared to the early part of the season without him. However, I dont think Mike's (positive) contribution to the team should be overlooked. - He is a player who can be relied upon to hit the clutch shot when we need it most.

With Kevin maturing and the offensive potential of Brad we have a decent starting line up. Sure I would like to see SAR play tougher, but last season it couldnt have been much fun for him with his broken jaw. Im hoping that next season he will be more agressive.

Ron Artest and thats a little scary in itself.

It's a risk to consider Ron you're most important player of course hes a impact player and he is probably our best impact player on the team? but is he the most important? i don't think so.

take him out and You have a lottery team of the knicks calibar

Perhaps it depends upon what we mean by 'important'.

If 'important' is taken to mean the player whose inclusion in the team has the greatest marginal influence to improve the team's chances of winning the game, then i think its difficult to pick anyone other than Ron.

But i do agree with you Joker, that Bibby is a very important member of the team. :)

Which is why i stated hes our best impact player. but in some sense important has a different meaning.

and people let's not even compare the Kings team without Artest with the Knicks... thats just a horror.

The way i see it

Ron ( Impact )

Bibby ( Important )

Brad ( Dark-horse ).

people might be a little upset if i say this but i'm still nervious that Ron might blow-up sometime as a King...

Knicks might even be more talented

Talent has nothing to do with the chemistry you have the Knicks have been a dump since the 90's. all they do is overpay scrubs hoping they somehow turn into a All-star.

we're better then the Knicks with our without Ron infact just about any NBA team is better then the Knicks or better yet any YMCA team.

we will see

I think the Knicks have some talented players on their team, Marbury and Francis spring to mind - but as a group are they more talented then us....? - I would say not. :)

See what? im surprised you're even trying to argue the Knicks are better then us without Ron its not true yes it's arguable that the talent the Knicks have is better but there talent is overshadowed by there poor Organization and the fact that they over-pay scrubs like Mo Taylor and Jerome James to all-star contracts.

It's definitely not Bibby. He looked big and a step slower, probably from lifting too many weights. I think his peak years are behind him, even though he's still under 30. It's not the years, but the mileage.

Artest seems to be the main man now, but he can't continue to have poor shooting percentages this year. His shot selection needs to be a lot better too.

Without Artest we are not even a remote chance for play-offs. With Artest we are a play off contender. You only need to look at last season to realise who the heart and soul of the team is and that scares me a bit.

That's what I thought, looked at the positive changes we made overnight with the addition of Ron mid way through the season. Bibby is a distant #2 and should be better now that we have some capable backups, most notably Salmons. Miller's stock has really gone done due to his poor play in the playoffs and Adelman sitting him rightly so. Martin is probably 2 or 3 I'd say, then maybe SAR, but the list gets hazy after than. Ron brings it night in and night out, and plays his heart out. Ron is our franchise player now that Webber is no more.
