Who's our biggest most important player on the team?

Well, in "defense" of Circa, perhaps it's because this topic has really been done to death, just before TheJoker got here...

:)

Didn't say you were doing anything wrong. It's just a common occurrence for new members to start threads on topics that have really been thoroughly discussed. And that's why some people react with "yawn," etc. No big.

Great :) i'm sorry i seem to make threads that seem to be re-runned in the past but i didn't follow this board i should've and it's my fault.

Hey there are plenty of new members on this board.

I am With Brick. After last year, how could you even consider Bibby? Ron is clearly our man and sets the tone of the team! Thank Goodness. Those 4 point or less (or whatever) games last year barely put him for contention #1 before Ron came along.

I think you have to consider Bibby. Just remember what happened to our offense and cohesion whenever he was on the bench. I am not saying that he was more important than Artest. They are both vital - just for different reasons.

Bibby had less than 10 points 6 times and was never under 4. That is going to happen unless you are in the top ten scoring leaders.

I certainly consider Bibby, just not for the best player on our team. Bibby is so great when he gets going!
"Bibiliciuos" :D

Entity - yeah, that is why I threw in the "or whatever". At least a couple of those were 4 points (if I rember correctly???). I guess I was just expecting alot more out of him last year - to carry our team and all. I was really disapointed in his inconsistant performance.

exactly what was you expecting. It was his career high in ppg he shot over 43% his career average is 44% averaged the same amount of assist as his first 3 years with us. The fact is the rest of the team sucked so bad that more pressure was on bibby to come up with some supernatural season of carrying everybody on his shoulders ppl assume he didn't have as good of a year as he had in the past. When if fact not only did he have a good year he had a better year. his fg% dropped down but, that may be because we had no 3pt threat and he had to fire up some 3's or the floor would not be spread out leaving us to average about 85 pts a game or so.

I agree. Considering where we were when Ron came, you can't really argue against him as being important, but I also believe that Bibby is just as important as Artest to our team's success this season.

Lots of people or forseeing gloom and doom for us. They may be right. (I hope not.) I, however, am excited to see our team have a full season of Bibby leading the offense and Artest leading the defense.

Fair enough.

I guess I did expect him to do better than his career average, but I see your point. Although, being the main line of offense might give him more oppertunity?

I am obviously not up on my stats, but am I the only one who was disapointed by his playoff performance?

No matter, I still say Ron clearly sets the tone for the team. And I only see that becoming more defined this year (unless we get KG etc.).

No, you're not the only one. I was disappointed in almost EVERYBODY'S playoff performance. I think that only Bonzi's play would be excluded.

I was thinking about adding Martin but, if I am remembering correctly, he had a couple of not-as-good-as-normal games. Ron was suspended for a game (fair or not) and that hurt us.

I'm just glad that it is ALMOST time to stop looking back at last season and start looking forward to this season!!

What about Kevin Martin, Shareef and Artest?

Brad - absolutely horrible playoffs, 1 good game of scoring. That's it.

Mike - average, below normal.

Bonzi - great

Ron - great

Kevin - very good

SAR - good

Hart - provided some defense, and at least tried when he was out there. Okay.

KT - his shoulder injury effected him (which he got before the playoffs), and had a disappointing, below average playoffs again.

Garcia - don't remember him playing much to put something on him.

Without a shadow of a doubt it's Ron Artest.

We had out little experiment where Bibby was our "leader" and we saw what that was leading us to...A lottery pick in the 2006 draft.

We got Ron, and he didn't only take over the leadership role, but he instantly transformed us into a pretty good defensive team...And did I mention how he claimed the leadership role that no one else apparently wanted?

Ron...No doubt.

That is a good choice, but I think I'm going to go with Artest's Thorazine prescription.

both good choices, but i'll have to give the nod to corliss, because he plays four positions: SF, PF, C, and SacBee correspondent.
