Who would you go after?

If the Kings were to go after a potentially availabl2nd/3rd option, who should it be?

Prince is more of a one dimensional player. A very good defender who also rebounds well for his position. He would certainly help the teaem on that side of the court, but not enough on the other side to make a big enough difference for my taste. Wouldn't turn him down by any means, but he's not my first choice.

You just defined Prince as I wanted to define Battier... but I still think Prince is a better player than Battier, Shane hasnt accomplished anything and to say he hasnt proved anything, IMHO he just proved hes a good man to man defender, but still not enough to be a solution for this team.. Prince has defended about any good player in this league up to NBA finals more than once... dont get me wrong, I like Battier and hes a very good defender, but I still think Prince is better and still think he(battier) wouldnt be who we need right now...

Out of this VERY realistic list of players, I would have to choose Iggy.

First I will start with the list. For those who dont like any of these guys .. Im sorry. This is about as good as its going to get for potential SFs coming to Sacramento.

I would say Wallace, but he is just so injury prone. He does alot of things you like though, just a good good player.

Igoudala is huge. Lebron James like athlete... very physically scary. Just having the ability to put a guy like him on Kobe, Durant, Gay, and all the other major scorers in the West would do wonders for our team and Evans. His numbers are kind of down this year, which is surprising on that Sixers team. 12ppg, 5reb, 5ast. Very good numbers for a defensive roleplayer .. and honestly thats what he should be. His contract suggests more than that, but hey .. we didnt offer him that kind of money. If Philly would give him to us for capspace and JT, I'd go for it.

Green is interesting. I dont know how much I like him .. but one thing we DONT have anymore is a streth 4. A big guy who can shoot the 3. I know the Thunder need help defending the paint... would Dalembert and Landry be enough to bring him over? Maybe.

Ps. I automatically knock Marvin Williams, Crawford, Gordon, and Prince off my list. I wouldnt touch either of those guys

The problem with Iguodala is he thinks he should be the go to guy.
Iguodala we've seen in the Wolrd Cup is a totally different player from the one in the NBA.
I like the first Iguodala, the second one is maybe my most hated player in the league, thinking as a basketball fan and not as a Kings fan.

I wouldnt give up Dalembert just yet, hes our only defensive presence...if it takes Dalembert to get any of the mentioned guys Id rather stay pat and wait for free agency.. But Id agree on a package including either Landry or JT or Greene or 2 of the 3 for Iggy, Smith or Wallace.

I dont know, Im not sure I agree with you on this one. I think Iggy is a pretty good guy on and off the court. In terms of shots, he attempts 11.3 FGA PG .. That less than Gerald Wallace, Jeff Green, and Tayshaun Prince. 11.3 shots a game on that Sixers team, were he could shoot 15 to 20 and no one would say anything, doenst seem very high.

I wouldn't mind Iggy because he can at least guard people, but we need a guy who can bury an outside shot, as well as somebody that is quick. Regardless of who plays center, you need a guy to open the floor. None of the above is my answer.

If Daly and Cousins are both out there, Cousins is the PF.
Even that one was a big taboo in this board.

They were saying Cousins and Dalembert are centers. PERIOD.

Remember how most of those knowledgeable coaches in this board says?

Cousins strength is on the post, as if saying PFs are not allowed to play post-up games on offense and as if PFs are supposed to only shoot away from the paint. And on defense, he would be drawn away from that post which will negate his talent in defending the paint. It actually goes the same way with Dalembert. They are too slow to guard PFs, blah-blah-blah.

I really wonder why those people are so quiet - now that it is becoming very evident that the other BIGs are not ready to step-up to the next level and Dalembert and Cousins are our best BIGs and they might as well start and play at the same time since they complement each others talents somehow.

Once again theoretics. Please name a name, as a full-sized back court mate for Reke that plays defense, shoots the ball and can handle the rock are, apparently, very rare, and they have to be available for our tradeable assets too. Oh an can't have a long-term contract that's bloated either....APPARENTLY. But please name names of this backcourt target.

i don't know of any that would be available. i did like evan turner as a backcourt mate but he's not available. with that said, i'm not the one firing off trade suggestions just for the sake of trading.

Afraid to stick your neck out? That's all I'm doing, offering up ideas, some more realistic than others, to start conversation and brainstorming how this team can improve. I hate the MYTHICAL guard complement syndrome on this board. Sure we know what the perfect guard is next to 'Reke, the question is WHO fits that mold and HOW to acquire said player, go off on a limb and try. It's rather fun, that is if you can tolerate the fiery darts that will inevitably head your way by doing so.
