Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Well, out of the carnage of Game 2 arises an interesting question I think (for me at least) -- who should get the starts at C/PF for us in Game 3?

We've got 5 big men, all of them seemingly playing at roughly the same not so great level. All have shown flashes. None has been consistently good. Out of the following players which duo would you start?

Tag: the biggest and strongest, best chance to stop the Sonics on the interior, but no offense and inconsistent
Miller: hopefully getting better every game, the last of our passing big men and a borderline All-Star, but not much of a defender, rusty, and easily ruffled
Skinner: hard work and heart, and our starter for the past 6 weeks, continuity for the team, but undersized vs. Jerome James
Thomas: small but quick, with a jumper that could theoretically bother the Sonics, but getting overpowered and outmuscled in there
Songaila: healthier than Miller and the other big man with experience in our system and the skills to run it, but smallish, not a good boarder against a great boarding team

Since we are all clearly more qualified than Rick is to coach the team anyway ;), who would you go with to start Game 3?

Miller at Center, Skinner at PF. Ostertag backs up Miller, and Thomas/Songaila backing up Skinner.

I think Skinner would be a good match-up with Evans. He is athletic, and a bit bigger than Thomas. Hopefully he could keep him off the boards, or at least contain him a bit. Bring in Thomas to back him up. Hopefully his jumper will cause problems, and he can use his athletisicm to grab some boards.

Miller, if he keeps getting heathier, should go against James. His jumper should draw him out of the paint, so for the love of God, Bard, shoot! He also would muscle up with him a helluva lot better than Corliss, or Songaila, or Thomas, or Skinner. Back up with Ostertag. Tag's size should cause problems in the paint. Etc. Etc. We all know Tag's game.

I would also like to see Skinner/Ostertag combo. With Ostertag being a pure shot blocker, would cause driving shots to be modified, then the "Suprise" shot-blocker Skinner would come out of nowhere and throw it into the 32nd row. Skinner's athletisicm would be needed out there with Tag's lack of it.

Brad @ C, Skinner @ PF, Kenny @ SF. This may anger a few people but Peja should come off the bench, but should be given enough PT.

I was expecting to see Brad/Skinner start last night. I think it's a great idea, it will definately help us on the boards. Skinner is a great shotblocker, and at PF, it's even easier for him.

Actually, I say let's just go all big for the heck of it.

C: Tag
PF: Miller
SF: Skinner

Chances of that happening are as good as chances of us winning the championship this year ;)

imo, the kings should do what mark kriedler suggested recently in one of his articles. they shouldn't attempt to change their style of play right now, here in the playoffs. it just wont work. how long does it take to get a team to buy into a system? i dunno, but the first round aint a good time to figure that out. the kings should stick to what they are great at, which is passing, cutting, shooting, and scoring a ****load of points. seattle's not playing particularly well. the only thing they have on the kings that i can see is that they are playing much more physically. i dont care what people say about the "toughness" of the guys we got in the webber trade, the kings are not a terrible strong or physical team, which is okay, cuz they can make up for that elsewhere. why try to bang with fortson, evans, or even james? they wont win that battle, no matter how hard they try. we saw what happens when they do try. b-52 got reallllllly frustrated. the kings should play the best and most honest defense that they can muster, but we cant expect any more than that. i expect the kings to prevent james from scoring 15+ points in a game, but i dont expect them to knock him on his ***, cuz it just aint gonna happen. the problem isnt defensive, anyways. the sonics arent scoring like they did early on in the season. they scored 87 in the first game, and 105 in the second. who here thinks that the kings can score more? i sure as hell do. with all that BS said, i think miller and thomas (and i agree brick, the most talented duo at C/PF) should get the start.
