I've been a Kings fan for a long time, but i'll follow Boogie where ever he goes. He's what re-invigorated me being a fan again, and i'll love him anywhere.
I'm a Kings fan for life no matter what. That's the definition of a true fan. DMC is not bigger than the franchise.

Congrats true fan. You earn yourself two pats on the back and a bag of who gives a poop
I've been a true fan since i was old enough to know basketball. around the time the Kings got Jason Williams, i was probably 8 years old. Been through it all and watched every game ever since.
But i will be DONE if this happens. Absolutely done.
You'll be back....just like most everybody else on here that is saying this. It's a knee-jerk reaction to say this because it makes you feel better if DMC gets traded. I understand it's hard, because we have no control over what the Kings do but that's part of being a fan. You have to take the good with the bad.
You should probably stop telling people how to be fans. Some of us have been following this team for a very long time and don't take this kind if decision lightly.

No, that's your personal definition of a fan. The majority of the fanbase will be lost.I'm a Kings fan for life no matter what. That's the definition of a true fan. DMC is not bigger than the franchise.

If they're "random" kings fans, they don't even know what the hell a pick is, let alone how many wins we've had. Rather, average fans that don't know anything only know Cousins as being THE kingsYou realize that the majority of the fan base is NOT all of us here on KingsFans, right? Most random Kings fans that aren't as into it as we are don't even like Cousins. They just see the whining on the court and the fact that they haven't ever won 30 games with him the past 4 years. They don't think about the fact that he's had 5 coaches and a bad supporting cast. They'll be happy if they have a #2 pick and rookies that play hard to root for. After all, can it really get any worse than it already has been the past 4 years?

No, it's not about paying attention, but rather not knowing anything about the nba. There are dedicated and fairweather fans. But, to think that dedicated fans are somehow some ultra-minority % is ludicrous and it is evident over the years when star players are traded and their arenas are 1/5 full afterwards, if not less.I'm not sure I understand your point but I think you are making it for me. Correct, they don't really pay attention to what pick we have, wins, etc. They just see DMC as "that whiny big guy" and don't really understand that you could be trading away the best big in the game. My point is, most people aren't as intense about it as some are here. Trading him away isn't going to stop them from taking their family to a game.

Ugh! My Kingdom for someone who could articulate their thoughts on this topic without resorting to No True Scotsman fallacies!
In my opinion if you decided to stop following the Kings due to losing a Star then you were never a true Kings fan to begin with.
People have to realize that no matter how close you may get to our team this is a BUSINESS first before anything else.
Business is business. I'm a die hard 49er fan and I'm not over here crying about Harbaugh being gone, or Patrick Willis, or Crabtree
or Frank Gore, or Justin Smith, or (insert another 5-6 star players the 49ers have lost this off season)
If I can remain a 49er fan after all of that then I can easily get over one star player being traded away from the Kings.
Sometimes losing a star player is for the better of the team. Example? I was in tears when Mitch Richmond was traded away
to get Chris Webber but what did that lead to? Some of the greatest years in the history of the Sacramento Kings!
So start worrying about other things in your life people! After all at the end of the day it's nothing more than a game that we
enjoy to watch. It's not something to get all bent out of shape on and act like the Kings are some how not good enough to be
your team. If you want to go root for another team than good because that'll be one less bandwagon fan when the seats
start filling up soon enough.

You're right. Business is a business. And their business is ran off me and my fellow fans' hard-earned money.
.. And if I were leaving based solely on a star or player leaving, I would've been gone after Webb and Reke.
