I've been a Kings fan for a long time, but i'll follow Boogie where ever he goes. He's what re-invigorated me being a fan again, and i'll love him anywhere.

Forget all I said earlier about the Kings. If we are trading Cousins, then I'm out. Vlade and Vivek have publicly came out and told us they are NOT trading Cousins. For them to go behind the backs of fans and do something like that is messed up. I'd be so done with the Kings. If we wanted to actually trade Cousins, why would Vivek and Vlade even open their mouths reassuring that they aren't trading him?

We better not trade Cousins.

I've been a true fan since i was old enough to know basketball. around the time the Kings got Jason Williams, i was probably 8 years old. Been through it all and watched every game ever since.

But i will be DONE if this happens. Absolutely done.

You'll be back....just like most everybody else on here that is saying this. It's a knee-jerk reaction to say this because it makes you feel better if DMC gets traded. I understand it's hard, because we have no control over what the Kings do but that's part of being a fan. You have to take the good with the bad.

You should probably stop telling people how to be fans. Some of us have been following this team for a very long time and don't take this kind if decision lightly.

How am I telling anybody how to be a fan? You just don't like my opinion...
BTW, I've been a diehard Kings fan since the day they arrived here in town. I've been through it all...

I don't think so. We put up with a losing franchise making incompetent decision after incompetent decision. Our only rays of sunshine were Tyreke and Demarcus. Tyreke may have been a bit of a disappointment (he was a jumpshot away from being special), but Cousins is as good or better than any of us could have hoped. At his age, he's at the Duncan/Ewing/Shaq level. For all the missteps the Kings have made, this would be by far the worst. Worse than the Webber trade. Worse than keeping Anthony Pealer overy Gerald Wallace. Worse than firing Adelman. It would be a franchise that has been losing for ten years, giving up a generational talent (who insists he wants to be here), committing to another full rebuild under the tutelage of a coach who's only a few years away from retirement. It would mean the good years were almost certainly a happy accident. If we can't make this work, there's no reason to believe this organization will make anything work. We've been defending Cousins for five years, telling everybody how good he would turn outo to be. An old school dominant big man. And now he is...if we just give that away? I'm done. For good.

No, that's your personal definition of a fan. The majority of the fanbase will be lost.
You realize that the majority of the fan base is NOT all of us here on KingsFans, right? Most random Kings fans that aren't as into it as we are don't even like Cousins. They just see the whining on the court and the fact that they haven't ever won 30 games with him the past 4 years. They don't think about the fact that he's had 5 coaches and a bad supporting cast. They'll be happy if they have a #2 pick and rookies that play hard to root for. After all, can it really get any worse than it already has been the past 4 years?

If they're "random" kings fans, they don't even know what the hell a pick is, let alone how many wins we've had. Rather, average fans that don't know anything only know Cousins as being THE kings

I'm not sure I understand your point but I think you are making it for me. Correct, they don't really pay attention to what pick we have, wins, etc. They just see DMC as "that whiny big guy" and don't really understand that you could be trading away the best big in the game. My point is, most people aren't as intense about it as some are here. Trading him away isn't going to stop them from taking their family to a game.

No, it's not about paying attention, but rather not knowing anything about the nba. There are dedicated and fairweather fans. But, to think that dedicated fans are somehow some ultra-minority % is ludicrous and it is evident over the years when star players are traded and their arenas are 1/5 full afterwards, if not less.

No, i will not be back.

I have been saying for months if this moronic front office runs a franchise Center out of town i'm gone too. this isn't a knee jerk reaction

I would like to say that I am gone if they trade Cousins, as I have many times threatened. That being said, it does depend on the package we would get back, and if it isn't something amazing...and I mean AMAZING then best case I will step back for a while, not spend another dime on the Kings (which is easy because of the fact that I live in Portland, and I absolutely despise the Kings.com team store which is a story for another time) Worst case, I just give up on them completely, until we get a new owner, or I follow Cousins wherever he goes that isn't the Lakers. It scares me though, because I can't even imagine what it would be like to root for a basketball team with functional owners and a good front office.

I enjoy the nba game too much to ever give up league pass or something crazy like that. I think I'll just bandwagon the Pelicans and a couple other teams. Doubt I'll be as invested, but not having to deal with constant dysfunction is worth the trade off.

Winning will cure everything. People act like Cuz is the only way we can win when we haven't won with him in 5 years. It will be ridiculous for the FO to trade him but if we become good again through some other mix of players I'm willing to bet many will come back to follow the team

In my opinion if you decided to stop following the Kings due to losing a Star then you were never a true Kings fan to begin with.
People have to realize that no matter how close you may get to our team this is a BUSINESS first before anything else.
Business is business. I'm a die hard 49er fan and I'm not over here crying about Harbaugh being gone, or Patrick Willis, or Crabtree
or Frank Gore, or Justin Smith, or (insert another 5-6 star players the 49ers have lost this off season)

If I can remain a 49er fan after all of that then I can easily get over one star player being traded away from the Kings.
Sometimes losing a star player is for the better of the team. Example? I was in tears when Mitch Richmond was traded away
to get Chris Webber but what did that lead to? Some of the greatest years in the history of the Sacramento Kings!

So start worrying about other things in your life people! After all at the end of the day it's nothing more than a game that we
enjoy to watch. It's not something to get all bent out of shape on and act like the Kings are some how not good enough to be
your team. If you want to go root for another team than good because that'll be one less bandwagon fan when the seats
start filling up soon enough.

You're right. Business is a business. And their business is ran off me and my fellow fans' hard-earned money.

.. And if I were leaving based solely on a star or player leaving, I would've been gone after Webb and Reke.

Well then get it over with already and take care. Stop being like the Kings and leaving us in suspense on whether or not you'll remain a Kings fan.
The least you can do is make it a quick process and just be done with it. :D

This entire post reminds me of all the Cavs fans who said they'd no longer be fans if Lebron left Cleveland. Well guess what... the rest is history.

No. Not acceptable. The "true fan" bullcrap does not fly around here; never has and never will.

People have the right to their opinions. If you have a differing opinion, feel free to state it but do not make it as though yours is the only right one.

It's not the end action, it's the way they go about treating coaches, players, fans, etc. It's not that they trade DMC or try to. It's a pattern of behavior, a toxic culture of lying, backstabbing, and general scumbaggery. It's PDA going on a show and lying through his teeth with condescension. It's vivek performing pr surgery with a wrecking ball. It's gone from a sad franchise to a cancer of a franchise. If you can't see the nuances then vivek should be glad he has people like you.
