The International. I thought this movie was supposed to be suspenseful? I actually slept thru parts of it because I got bored.

I saw Public Enemies yesterday evening.
I thought what was delivered felt a little slow and a little long, but would have liked a bit more back story and development of some of the supporting characters. Can't fault the performances, though. Depp and Bale are both quite good, as are everyone surrounding them. Ultimately, aside from some pacing issues, I really liked the film. EXCEPT for Mann's insistence on shooting digital. Just felt wrong for the era, which I always associate with a certain richness (visually, if not economically). Here, though, the digital image not only lacked the depth of film, but was grainy and even ugly at moments. As I've pointed out in every conversation I've had about the film since seeing it, there was at least one shot in which the background looked blown out and pixelated. Distracting as hell.

In the trailers, Johnny Depp actually looks younger than ever. Is he becoming Dorian Gray?

I never heard of this book "Inkheart" and really had no idea what this movie was all about. I like Brendan Fraser as an actor, so I just rented the it. If you enjoy a good fantasy movie, I would recommend seeing it.
Saw Transformers 2 the night before last. Definitely action packed. Plot was ok, some scenes held to the plot of the original cartoon movie
Too bad I was sitting next to some early adolescent who groaned uncomfortably each time he saw Megan Fox. I had to ask him if he was OK, and that shut him up.
like the use of the matrix, which I was looking for in the first movie. Also cool to see Arcee in there, even though it was for a brief second.

Passengers -- ok, but derivative Anne Hathaway vehicle from last year. Can't even say derivative of what without spoiling the movie for anybody watching. Suffice it to say that the slow pace, color palette choices etc. had me suspicious and wondering how they were going to play it, and I was somewhere in the ballpark once the reveal came along (they were cheating thoguh, so anybody who tells you they had it exactly right is just lying).

Seven Pounds - I heard this got somewhat bad reviews before watching it, but I wanted to see it anyway because I love Will Smith's movies. But I gotta say, I didn't like this too much. Very confusing at first, then halfway I had it all (ok, some) of the ending figured out.

Why is this called Seven Pounds? Is it because the human heart ways seven pounds?? I know there were seven different people, but that doesn't seem significant to me 
Watched "The Reader" tonight and both my wife and I liked it. Pacing was a bit uneven at times, I think, and the main character actions are not always fully explained, but still a good movie.
Warning - more than your average amount of nudity (mostly female) in the first portion of the film, if for some reason you are concerned about that.

Watched Taken on Saturday night. Mainly because I like Liam Neeson as an actor. It was pretty much what you'd expect from a former spy must rescue daughter from bad guy human traffickers. Still, I was looking for something escapist and it served its purpose.
Watched the Bourne Supremacy on TV last night. That's a great series. I've read a number of Ludlum's books, including the Bourne ones. Love his stuff.

Knowing - ........................I hope they do a remake of this in the next decade or two. This movie started off with so much potential, but the last half hour or so was pretty stupid. Kind of clever in its own way
, but still. Overall a pretty good movie, the first hour alone is definitely worth checking out, but don't get your hopes up because it goes downhill from there.
btw, can anyone answer my question about Seven Pounds on the previous page?
since it mentioned about the possibility of there being more solar systems at the beginning of the movie

I saw The Uninvited .. I thought it was OK, my GF liked it a lot more than I did, and I love 'horror' movies. I actually thought the movie was awful until the end .. Kind of reminded me of the sixth sense because of how the ending took the movie to another level.
Wifey and I went to see the Hangover tonight as we are at my mom's for the weekend. While I would have picked something else I pretty much laughed the whole way through.

The Knowing was the last movie i watched too, and first thing first: i have to mention that the graphics in that movie were absolutely stunning. WOW
The movie was pretty cool overall, except for the alien crap. That was the most retarded part of the movie.

Ummmm, I always thought its called 7 pounds because Will Smith helped 7 people throughout the movie. Thats what I've been hearing..and the POUNDS part is because Spencer Hawes needs to put on a few pounds of muscle and dominate the paints.

And I agree the effects in Knowing were very well done. I was just so disappointed with the last half of that movie, because I love Nicholas Cage and I haven't seen him in a great movie in quite some time (I've liked some of his recent ones, but I am probably in the minority)

Oh I'm not saying he's lost his popularity. I honestly love the National Treasure movies, and I liked the other ones I saw him in (never saw all the movies you listed there), but none of these movies jump out at me the way Face/Off or Con Air did. Those are among my favorite movies ever

Duplicity - I thought it was pretty good. I like Clive Owen, I think he's a very good actor. And Julia Roberts is Julia Roberts, she is one of my favorite actresses of all time.
Gone Baby Gone - The movie, though predictable, was unexpectedly good. I thought that Casey Affleck was miscasted for the part, but he actually did a pretty decent job. Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris were great too, as always.

Knowing. It was pretty good and the special effects were awesome.

The Hangover: Not bad...not great, but not bad. It was pretty much what I expected based on the title. Some parts were funny, some not so much. It was worth my hour and a half, but I doubt I'll sit through it again.
