what is under Arco Arena ?

Bobby jackson got hurt last 2-3 years missed playoff critical time
Peja gets hurt every year
Bibby misses few games
Miller gets hurt every year
Bonzi this year
Christie lost all his ablility
Cwebb was never the same after that day in dallas

Two Things happen when you come to Sacramento :

1) Fans will love you more than other place on the planet

2) YOU will get injuired and miss a lot of games .

I want kings team but with pistons players health !

Well it is built on an old Indian burial ground isn't it? And didn't someone actually curse the Kings because of that?

We have been remarkably injury-FREE this year actually. We were kind of overdue for one. And with still have Brad's annual early summer vacation to look forward too as well. Maybe end of Feb/early March tops.

I heard Groundskeeper Willie was burned up in the basement.

I follow every major sport and I like a lot of teams. The Kings are hardly the only one that suffers injuries. Really, in the past 15 years there have been two team altering injuries: Webber's which may have cost us one or two legit title shots depending on your POV and Hurley's which basically amounted to losing our draft pick since we'll never know what he could or couldn't have been. Losing Bonzi for a month and Peja for a week hurt but they are non-career threatening injuries. And while we may regret giving up on Webber right now we also appear to have dodged a major bullet with Christie. We are a long way removed from the days of a useless Sampson sitting on the bench (ok we might still have one of those) devouring our salary cap and crippling the team. There are a number of teams stuck in that boat right now and if it weren't for the amnesty this past offseason there'd be even more.

I used to wonder about that..... .......no, not really. But, the Sacramento Monarchs won the WNBA Championship IN ARCO Arena. Any previous jinx/spell has been broken......by the women. :p

Mark my words, if Peja truely has a bulging disc he'll be out more than a week. My mom had 3, and had to have surgery. That's the same thing Vlade had. It's basically a herniated disc, they just don't want to use that terminology.

It causes immense amounts of discomfort and pain just trying to walk around, let alone run and jump. They said AT LEAST a week. That's the key words here. That's an optimistic hope. If he's back in a week, they are shooting him up with stuff to numb him up. Which will further the injury. A bulging disc doesn't just unbulge.

man we should just get him surgery and let bonzi sit the remainder of the season and trade brad and sar for young guys and picks and get nene and call it a day. We're not gonna be good this season, we should get exp contracts. Let adelman go because he doesn't deserve to have to coach this mess. If we can sign some guys and keep mike and bonzi and get nene for next year, get a nice player from the draft, who knows, we might be good next season. Ugh, this friggin sucks.

Ok, let me correct myself. I spoke with my mother who is an RN and also has had bulging and herniated discs. Still has some others that are bulging after her surgery. A bulging disc is on it's way to eventually being herniated. A bulging disc presses on the nerves that are underneath it on the spine. The pain is where the bulging disc is, and wherever the nerves end. So, if the nerves that are getting squished end in your arms and go threw your arms let's say, you'll feel the pain all the way up the back, through the shoulders and down the arms. The nerves could be going anywhere depending on which disc it is. In his lower back it would probably more than likely be in his legs and hips.

It isn't ARCO. It is playing 40+ minutes a game. That wears on players. The more they play, the more of a chance that they will get hurt.

That doesn't really change what I said though, wouldn't it mean his bball career is maybe over?

LOL!

Protruding disc and herniated disc mean the same thing. It used to mean surgery in most cases, but they have found that a more conservative approach works quite well for about 80% of the people. Basically, tho, it means lots of rest and actually lying down a lot. Standing and sitting compresses the vertebrae. The idea is that, inflamation lessens, the vertebrae spread more when you recline and the disc "slips" back in.

If it keeps slipping out or actually ruptures, surgery becomes more likely. Then he'd be out for quite a while. I don't know that it would be career ending, tho. But the disc problem (pressing on nerves) causes muscle weakness and can be very, very painful. *sigh* This news sucks.

Bobby just missed 4 games with a bad hamsting. Maybe it followed him?
Even in Greece Peja broke his leg.
Bibby has been fine since the foot injury a few years ago.
Miller gets hurt every year - never played a full season in the NBA.
Bonzi missed 13 games last season in Memphis.
Christie had his best years with the Kings. Like other players who got older, the injuries catch up with you. The Kings got great mileage out of DC.
Webber was never the same after that day in Dallas? neither was JFK. ;) Seriously, if the Arco curse was that bad, wouldn't the injury have happened at Arco?
The indian burial ground thing is pure BS. It's a flood zone. That's the only thing hanging over it's head other than the cheap construction that requires it to be replaced ASAP.
The real truth is that all teams have injury issues every year.

The franchise seems to have so many injuries... this injury to bonzi and peja probably killed any hope of a good season... Webber's knee injury killed any chance of a championship. Bobby always was injured.

Der is no bad karma or anything like that. The problem is Rick Adelman, i've said it a million times, that he doesnt know when to substitute a player, and the end result is and injury... Like a few years ago when he kept on playing CWebb when wer up by 20+, ders no reason to do that.... chances are players will get injured. I say we fire adelman...

You better be doing some ellaborate anti-jinxing dance when you say that.

Preferably one that includes knocking and/or whistling of some sort.

And, yes, I'm dead serious.

Bull.

First, this was your 4th post so you haven't said ANYTHING here a million times (and for that I'm eternally grateful).

Second, there is NO correlation whatsoever between the types of injuries suffered by the Kings and a substitution pattern. If you're trying to say that Webber's injury was the result of him staying on the court when the Kings were up by 20 - or whatever - you're simply wrong. Period.
