I'll make an announcement later today regarding the future of #FANS.

That announcement will be made in this thread.

#FANS (Fund Arena Now Sacramento) served its purpose, which was to support the city of Sacramento as they looked to find a way to help pay for a new downtown arena for many reasons such as keeping our Sacramento Kings here but also for reasons that are #BiggerThanBasketball. That's always been our philosophy.

We were successful in our mission. We showed up every month to city council meetings and other events while wearing our #FANS white T-shirts to show not only do we understand the need for a new downtown arena but also to show we were united in our support.

It is now time to close the chapter on #FANS and look to a new beginning. I want to thank everyone for joining us with #FANS because of your commitment and passion for Sacramento.

Please watch our entire video as the next chapter will be explained. I hope that you will join us in what will be coming very soon and to help us spread the word. Thank you.

Hey Mike, that is an incredible video. Great job to you, or whoever produced it. I'll be moving back to Sacramento soon and look forward to helping.

What an incredibly well done, well produced video!!!

Man, all I want is for this thing to work out. I have more interest in the Kings moving to where ever, than to retrofit AA, PBP, STA. Sacramento deserves better, this is bigger than basketball. However the private owners in this "public private partnership" the Mayor was speaking of does not care about Sacramento. And until that sentiment changes, this is going to be a continual battle.

God's Speed to Crown Downtown!!!

We're behind you Mike.

BTW, George looks a little like a cracked out Ron Jeremy.

Minus around 8 inches.

Great video! Can't wait for the new one tomorrow to see what crown is all about.

I like the twitter post about how people were walking around the parking lot wondering where to get dinner when a new arena would have people not wondering where but from which restaurant to choose from.

Thank you everyone. My brother Jesse produced it. He has the educational background and work experience when it comes to this sort of thing. He's a professional and not an amateur or someone who does this sort of thing as a hobby. We also have the equipment to produce a professional video as you will see very soon.

As far as the tweet that went out on Crown Downtown, I was walking through the parking lot to get to my car and I overheard a couple saying just that. They also said, "Where should we drive to?"

The next video will be released this Monday and it will have details on our event for this Tuesday. Stay tuned.

Your doing a great job Mike! Looking forward to futher infomation. I assume I'll see you at the Clipper game in Dec...

Mike and Jesse have both worked incredibly hard on all of this, not to mention a fair amount of financial investment. They've done a terrific job. They are heroes to me. :)

You’ve done a great job and I support what you’re doing(no really). Really. I have a sincere question because it’sunclear. FANS lobbied the city council tostep up and fund their share of a downtown arena. You did a great job and made sure the citydid their part. Because that’s no longerthe issue, I get why there need to be a shift. It appears you are focused on a downtown arena as opposed to a remodel, which I think is very smart.

This might become clearer going forward, but who/what areyou advocating to at this point? Is itthe NBA and city as a general support for a downtown arena if either theMaloofs wised up, a new owner, expansion, ect? Will this be more broad based showing of support?

I’m not trying to be critical. I’d like to know where you are going, becauseyour work on this has been very important .

I think our "About" page should help clear this up:

http://www.crowndowntown.org/?page_id=7

Mission:
To show our continued support for the construction of a downtown entertainment and sports complex and the benefits it would bring to the city and region of Sacramento. To maintain public awareness of the entertainment and sports complex efforts through education, advocacy and the opportunity for the community, the business leaders and our local officials to bring their thoughts on the project to a wide audience.

And yes, one of the first topics to tackle is this insane idea that some paint and new curtains will make ARCO/STA "competitive" again as an arena to draw acts to Sacramento. It's putting lipstick on a pig unless you demo the building and start from scratch.

That makes sense keep the fire burning.

It seemed like you folks were gearing up to push some group and I couldn't think of who that party might be.

Keep up the good work.

We'd love for the Kings to stay in Sacramento. If we could have team owners willing to join the deal for a new arena downtown (Maloofs or others), that would be our number one choice. However, we really believe Sacramento needs a new arena for all the events that could come to a new arena. We also believe the best place to locate that new arena is in the railyards. We want to keep that part of the dream alive for all the benefits we think it would bring to our city.

My grandaughter recently went to Disney on Ice. She loved it. I want my grandkids to enjoy events like that right here in Sacramento for years to come.
