On offense I rather have Afflalo spacing the floor and posting up, I think people get to caught up with size when It comes to positions (rightfully so), but I don't why a tough minded and physically tough player like Afflalo can't defend SF's, PJ Tucker did It last year (playing less mins),Dwyane Wade guarded Paul George a lot in the playoffs, I rather have a guy starting and spacing the floor for Cousins while being slightly undersized than a guy good size who can't spread the floor. I mean it says Andre Igoudola who everyone here wanted as our SF is 6'6 207 (yahoo, but im pretty sure he's a bit more) and they have Afflalo @ 6'5 215 so I don't really see the big deal. He provides everything the team needs in defense, shooting, a player who knows his limitations and just a tough SOB.
I will agree he is a SG but he has guarded the likes of LeBron before, it's not like he's going to be a undersized PF battling for boards and things of that nature, imo it's more important a players mental/physical nature rather (when they are close to the right size) and AA likes to bang and Is physical.
PG: Vasquez playmaker
SG: M16: shooter
SF: Afflalo: shooter
PF:JT/Pat : jack of all trades/shooter
C: Cousins: playmaker
That line up to me looks far better than the one with Luc Richard (who will be excellent off the bench), end of the day it's very unlikely Lebron, Durrant and the other SF's will be stopped so it's better we make them work BOTH ways, AA can do that Luke Richard cannot. Sometimes offense can be a good defense in that you tire a player out, Afflalo and M16 are excellent moving off the ball (and both have very high energy levels, Afflalo year in year out gives all on both ends) and having other wing players chasing them all game will lower the opposition wings energy.
